| Quote upthecats="upthecats"Personally think some of the stuff being written on here about Andrew Glover is disgusting. Yes, mistakes have been made but these are hard times, the guy has put thousands and thousands of his own money into our club, more than the majority of us die hard fans will do in a lifetime. If i was a potential investor with a million quid in the bank and was reading some of the garbage posted on here and how ungreatful people become so quickly with someone who has given to our club what AG has, then i wouldnt touch us with a barge pole...'"
I understand what you're saying but people/supporters etc are entitled to their opinion.
He's got thousands to put in and wanted to do so.
When you come out with statements such as 'the biggest announcement ever in the history of the Wildcats' or 'we need never to worry about money again' you can understand frustration and disappointment within the fans camp.

I think AG carried out his work with the best intentions and put his money, or a least his companies, where his mouth was. Problem is whilst all the soundbites were positive and we were lead to believe all was rosy the reality was so very different. We as fans bought into what was said, we believed him and trusted him. After the mess that the Richardsons left we finally thought we had someone who could in time take us forward to the promisded land. But in the background we were racking up debts, CCJ's and winding up orders like they were going out of fashion and he had obviously run out of ideas to stem the flow. Now whether it was a case of relying on Elston too much, a man who was obviously way out of his depth, i'm not sure, but as chairman he should have been overseeing things and put a stop to things before they went this far. The other board members should have also been asking more questions and that includes our new chairman. But everybody just let it ride and now that famous creek is right ahead and our paddle is broken. Credit to MC for putting his neck (and house) on the block to try and sort the mess but it should have never got this far.
We are now pretty much at a point of no return, money has to be found and quickly or else its goodnight and god bless. And lots of it is needed. Problem is people are angry and are not just going to throw good money after bad. The crown jewels are having to be sold and if they are next year will possibly end in relegation to the championship, where we may remain for a while. Without superleague income we then have a debt servicing problem all over again. We feel let down, lied to and the trust has now gone. It is only natural that people our going to vent their spleen at the people who got us in this position as we go through this yet again.

When you are knocking AG don't forget this interview:-
www.wakefieldwildcats.co.uk/news ... a/2013/07/
He gave a honest assessment here of what was wrong in this article in July. I cannot see how he has hid anything from the supporters.
Nieve - maybe
Out of his depth - possibly
Wool pulled over his eyes - definately

| I respectfully disagree.
I agree its great he put the money in but the job is to make sure outgoings < incomings and cut the cloth to suit.
Its great having the players we do but I think everyone would prefer much lesser players and finishing lower down the table but being a stable club and growing.
Within a very short time frame it has all fallen apart.
I think he has not had any where near the flack that the Richardsons received who did a similar thing but over a much longer time frame which I think deserves much more credit.

| Has anyone come out and said where the 400k shortfall is from.
We all know about the Eric France deal going pear shaped but, were "comforted" by the acquisition of C & D, who were lauded up to be a sizeable sponsor.
Just before the Rhinos game we were told about cash flow issues and with the bumper crowd in attendance, the lay man would think that this would then have eased the situation slightly.
We are all hacked off at being in the poop (again) but has anything that we have been fed over the past 2 years been correct or has it all been a Jackanory nightmare.
It still puzzles me greatly that, having been in admin so recently, somebody has not controlled the purse strings in a scroogesque style.

Paying players not to play for the club won't have helped. Think of all the contracts that were reneged on in the 2011 off season (Moore, Higgins et al), the likes of Ellis, Southern, Mellars and it starts to add upto a sizable chunk of that £400k

| Yep and John. Im not sure Agar would have wanted them out of the club if it meant the club was on its bum. Is it unusual for a club coach to know about club finances or it is a closely guarded secret? Could have done with some dialogue which could have saved literally hundreds of thousands of pounds.
