| Thats assuming it was soley jd decisions to play and not encourage by the coaching staff.
Quote Trojan Horse="Trojan Horse"Probably get slated for this but.. JD has not been consistant enough this season to get near MOS.
Started well - played terrible for a few games with MT and penalties/knock ons flooding in his game. Fair enough he was suffering from an injury but it was poor judgement on JD to delay getting his injury sorted for a number of weeks. I won't knock him for committment though as it is always top notch.
Now thats sorted but he's still not back to early season form just yet but looking better.'"

| Quote Haywire="Haywire"Agreed, he has been terrific in most games for us this year - but had a lull when he appeared to be playing with an injury. I would probably have him behind Snitchy for the Wakefield MOS award.
2007 was (by far) his best run of form in my opinion, head and shoulders above everybody else in our side, and most others in the league. If he wasn't seen to do enough in '07 I dont see how he can be realistically in the reconing this time round.'"
Snitch is definitely the stand out player at Belle Vue this year - even if he is Cas bound - and Matt Blaymire deserves some praise for the way he's improved since last year. JD's best years for Trinity were 2006 & 2007 - his run out from our own in-goal area at Odsal when we were fighting for survival spoke volumes. Last year he suffered with his neck injury and he's definitely playing better this season now that he's recovered from the surgery, but to say he should be a realistic contender for MOS is a bit far fetched.
I know we all have rose tinted glasses when it comes to our own team and IMHO some have an even rosier view of what some individuals are doing now because of past service to the club. Personally, I'd be more than happy to see any Wakefield player in contention for MOS at the end of the season, but I'd be extremely surprised to see any of our players actually win it.
Other posts suggesting JD would be a prime candidate for a "sportsmanship" or "spirit of the game" award are spot on & I wouldn't be surprised if someone like JD would have just as much pride (if not more) in winning that sort of award than winning MOS.

| Playing wise JD's not been at his best for one reason or another and with the injury and the loss of his good friend Adam followed by Leons sad loss its not hard to see why.
But for having PRIDE and a determination to win you'll find no better player in RL either side of the big puddle.
If i had to stand in the trenches with one man beside me then it would be a easy choice.
MOS no way, Legend no way. Honest and full of pride for his teamates 100%.
The mans a ROCK.

No not at all.
Having seen nearly every game that Morro has played for us i'm sure that Morro has more determination, guts and pride than most other players in SL or the NRL.

And that's the point there!
It's all about opinions but most on here would probably replace the word "most" in your description of Morro with the word "any" in our description of JD.

Yes, because the one i'd put above him would be Jamie Peacock, and if still playing, Brian Mac.

But not JD mate Not that i doubt Morro at all and what you say about him but JD's carried players through emotions Morro would not even want to think about, and he's done that on and off the field.
He's been a rock to many players at our club.

Well Morro will certainly fit in well with JD and some of your players then. He is -atm- the player with the most guts, heart, pride and determination at our club, and if it was down to me he would have had another year.
