I thought I read, on here, that Walshaw had personal off-field issue that resulted in his lack of appearances during much of his time with us?

I've willed him to do well every time he has played but lets face it, even though he has the size, he was no Andy Kelly (2nd Row)or Richard Goddard (Centre) at a similar age and instantly they made 1st team appearances.

Just to play Devil's Advocate for a moment. It is fair to say in the eyes of many fans Walshaw didn't appear to get many opportunities, but how many of us are as knowledgeable about the players as the coaching staff are? One other thing we can lament all day long about this or that player was good enough, but how many of our younger players (who many fans rated) have gone to lower league teams and come back to haunt us. I would suggest not as many as we would like to believe.

The thing is, if you've been outbid on a player by a championship club with all that entails (lower cap, lower league) then surely that's not a good thing for your club.
