| Can't agree with the criticism of Howarth. Always looks like creating something when he's running down that right hand side. Had Morton managed to reach that grubber, Howarth put through, just before half time we would have gone in 16-20.
Can agree that Lee gave one of the worst exhibitions of a kicking game I ever seen in a game today though.
We were flattered by the scoreline in the end.

| Quote King Street Cat="King Street Cat"Have to disagree there. I was expecting no more than 3000.
4500 was admirable considering it was a bank holiday weekend and Catalans didn't bring any fans at all.'"
4,500 is shocking a pathetic showing from the apathetic Wakefield public.
It was poor yesterday but they are a good side and given the lack of quality and experience there will be many more days like yesterday. That this team has given us days like Hull away, Cas away and Hull KR at home is amazing and should be treasured. Keep the faith cos you never know when the next nail biting, against all odds victory is going to come!

| Quote Trinity Till Death="Trinity Till Death"Eric, i think your way off the mark with Howarth. Today he was injured after 5 minutes which caused him to make some uncharacteristic errors.
If you watch alot of our tries down the right hand side they come through Howarth's passing. His timing and pass selection is superb. The lad is very intelligent and reads the game well and generally is always supporting the ball carrier.'"
I agree. He appears to have a very good understanding with Chris Dean on the pitch and they often combine very well.

| Lee was poor yesterday but he did come up with the best moment of the game for me.
After Catalan scored just before half time off the forward pass he turned to the touchjudge and said
"I don't know why you are even here, you don't even do anything and that was a disgraceful decision."
It certainly put a smile on my face because he said what we all think about touchjudges.

| howarth is decent in attack but his real strength to me is his defence. the lad is a tackling machine, i have not seen the stats for the season but reckon he must be right up there, and very rarely misses his one on ones.
very under rated player imo.

| Quote kinleycat="kinleycat"Tired looking performance for me, I think last week took allot out of the tank physically and mentally.
The ref certainly did us no favours, but we didn't do ourselves many favours neither.
I'm getting fed up of listening to the terrace experts spouting off about a 6 or 7, bent on slating what we've got and when questioned unable to suggest any players that would come.
We've got what we've got, get behind them.
The only concern I have is that if JK signed Moore because of his kicking game, then surely it's time he got a chance, because we are desperate for one.
As for hickey, he's weeks away for fitness, so again, we have to go with with what we've got until the big fella is up to it.
Thought korki was excellent.
Message to lupset airport.
Get yourself down, you won't be half as disappointed as you think, the effort is there, unlike last year.'"
Tiredness is a poor excuse for bad discipline and poor attacking options, we had a full 7 days recovery so i don't buy into that, i worked 60 hours one week, had a week off, hit the Gym every day, painted the living room, kitchen and re-plumbed the bathroom and still turned up for work bushy tailed and bright eyed, and i earn a lot less, i will not slate the players effort, but to sign players and to move other players from their natural position to cover players weve signed to play is in my eyes Stupidity, i only hope Frankie is ok for Friday or Tommy will be playing in the Second row or Prop......

Given the start of the school hols, crappy weather, big footy match, total absence of travelling suppport and lack of any additional marketing, I think 4.5k is quite respectable.

Agree. I said to my Dad on the way to the game that Town being in the play off final would have an impact on the gate.
The gate also tallies with the fact that we probably have around 5-5,500 core support which again aint bad all things considered.
Whether we like it or not, people watch a winning team. If we manage to stay in SL and can recruit a few extra quality players, start winning more consistently then gates will go up.

| Totaly agree re Howarth good player and will only get better.
Thing I found strange yesterday, we made 4 subs in the last 6 mins, especially as we were 1 player down in Howarth.
Thats 25% of the subs allowed not used for 74 mins of the game.
For me Davey had an excellent game and without Murphy they would have gone in at half time out of sight (they were anyway).
Re the ref, Feriol should have had at least 10mins a blatant attack at Korkis head, the ref had only just spoken to him for using the elbow in the tackle the play before.
Total lack of bottle from the ref.

| Come the francise decisions it will be interesting to see which of our lads are snapped up by Widnes. Think Howarth and Johnson (prop) are nailed on to be offered contracts back at their side of the pennines.
