my mum lives in a big house in stanley and has signed .. also seeing her neighbours to sign too... wonder if the locals would rather have a sports stadium used every other week or a supermarket used 24 hours !

I'll try and get a few sheets signed from folk around my area in Stanley, should not have any probs. Lot that have been talking about it seem keen about it.

Pubs would be a good bet, if everyone dropped a few off at their local (with the landlord's approval (which shouldn’t be hard for the establishments in the Stanley area!!!!)) then it should see the numbers rise significantly.



Schools as well. If the community department took a few with them at each visit and dropped a few off with kids to get their parents and friends to sign the benefits could be two fold. Numbers increase and the kids also feel part of something and may be more inclined to go to matches.

last night showed me that Wakefield Trinity are still not held in high regard in Wakefield and it will take time to rebuild confidence following years of neglect and before the SWAG police tell me off I did explain that the building of the stadium has very little to do with Trinity...

I was dropping forms off in the shop yesterday and there was a couple in who were asked about signing / taking a form. The lady immediately asked if it was for the new stadium, when we told her it was she immediately replied 'well I won't be signing one'! We enquired as to why and she said it was because she didn't agree with it and that we should stay at BV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!





We could all spend an awful lot of unproductive time trying to win favour from people with these types of opinions - don't do it, smile, be polite and move on to someone who does agree with what we are doing.



Having tried to sell raffle tickets to a sceptical Wakefield public I know the type of replies you can get - and there is just no convincing that there is a different way.

Staying at BV would be my option, but in the real world that can't happen so lets get this show on the road.

Not disagreeing at all - we all love it, because of it's flaws, but we ain't got a future there and that is more important than our romantic attachments!

It is a shame we could not knock down Belle Vue and rebuild their as for parking around the grounds on match day, they could have park and ride from the muti story car parks, most would walk to ground only allow Disabled people to park near the stadium......



But ya that my opinion, so I will be in for forms Saturday, have them filled in Sunday, and back to SWAG Monday...

Could have turned the old power station site into a car park and built some kind of walk way to the ground.
