Yorkshire radio RL has posted a quote from Brian Smith on twitter

I have tried to copy it but can't for some reason so if anyone who knows what they are doing please feel free. I think its time Mr Carter came out and made a statement to what Mr Smith is referring to. He seems adamant that Wakefield will not be hear much longer due to the restraints been put on the team/coaching staff.

Disappointed like all Wildcat people to see Friday night result. Be careful tho how U respond and what u read and hear. Many of those people charged with delivering the goods on game day have similar misgivings as I had.



I had different options and chose not to work in those conditions which are not conducive to the necessary professional standards that have operated every where else I have ever worked since 1984.



The long term always shows. In this case it may not be too long. Just hope the great old club is not destroyed in the meantime.

Look, I don't want to be disrespectful to BS but he's rambling like an old fool with dementia!



Just go quietly Brian and accept you're failings, people will understand that the job got too hard and would have taken too long for a 62 year old.



It's getting embarrassing for him now!

I can't work out if he is just bitter or whether we should be worried.



There is obviously something amiss but is it something that has changed recently or are they things that has always been the case at Wakefield? I don't remember agar or Webbo complaining about things like this so for me it must be things that MC has done recently that has caused it.



That said unless both sides stop being cryptic and actually say what they are thinking then we will probably never know.

I would say you are being more than disrespectful, you are being insulting based on what your own assumptions. I would suggest you look at his coaching record, I doubt he would need to justify why he left unless he really does fear for the future of our club.

I suppose time will tell but all I know we are in exactly the same position we were last season and the one before that and I wouldn't consider Smith to be the common denominator in that period.

OK so I'm being somewhat insulting but he's attacking the club from a distance and under false pretences in order to protect his own ego.



He doesn't care about Wakefield Trinity!



He was here for 5 minutes ffs!



This is all about saving face for him.

BS is not man enough to say what was wrong and then states that there are others at the club (players/coaches) who have a similar opinion to his, thereby possibly opening up a rift not only between MC and the 'others', but also not knowing who these other opinion holders are. This 'stirring' could cause more unrest.

The thing is he can't name the others. BS was lucky he had other options but some of the players/coaching staff may not and rely on the wage they are getting, Looking at Friday's lack of effort by some he may be right in what he is saying.



It needs a response from MC and a true one at that.All this is doing is casting negativity about Wakefield Wildcats and we can do that no problem

Wait a minute!



Brian Smith is responsible for the performances so far and more so for the one on Friday! It's that fact that he's trying to distance himself from at the expense of the club and now some of its coaching staff.



I think Mick Carter can be accused of a few things but not being truthful isn't one of them, he's truthful to the point of being dour!

Heard a few interesting things from a few people recently regarding BS. Heard he wanted to invest in the club himself and was given short shrift. I think this fits with the almost bitter edge to his comments in my opinion. Also heard MC hasn't quite been as truthful as everyone thinks about how long he has been involved at the club!!

Good coach or not Smith's gone now, he gave up the right to voice his opinion as far as I'm concerned when when he walked out on us last week leaving us in the brown stuff having spent all our money on players what are perceived not good enough, and now he's decided to cause some mischief from afar under the guise of being worried for the club and it's fans, if that's the case why doesn't he just go back home and retire gracefully instead of causing no end of embarrassment for Carter the club and those fans he talks so lovingly about.

Getting drunk and rambling on Facebook is not a very dignified way for him to end his tenure - and that's on top of walking out at a crucial part of the season having been unable to improve the on-field performances.



I had respect for BS and was pleased when we retained him - but I've lost that respect - he's handling himself like a rank amateur.
