Could be a good move for him if he takes his opportunity. It's worked well for Big Sammy.


Looks like Cartwright was happy with what he saw with Charles, and that puts Balmforth down in the pecking order. Hopefully, he'll get plenty of game time at Catalans. And that would be a bonus for everyone. 


But it's up to Balmforth to take his opportunity.

From a Wigan POV you have Hill arriving from us. Byrne is leaving and although nothing from the club no Wigan fan can see Chan staying at Wigan.


Signs for me is that Wigan will try and keep Eseh. He may prefer Hull and defer re-signing for Wigan.


One thing for sure is that Cartwright most certainly knows what he's doing. His day to day decisions may seem odd at times but his overall influence has been quite brilliant.


Not trying to be funny but surely Cartwright is the best signing your club has made in years. If you get him to stay for a few seasons what he could achieve is mouth watering for Hull FC.  

I said a while back that cartwright was more important than any player recruited although maybe pearson bringing in myler was the pivotal one

Maybe, JC thinks Balmforth doesnt deserve it....and Charles does.
Since Balmforth has slimmed considerably, he's lost the impact he had last year.,

" Good luck to him and the experience he will gain in all areas, playing, a new environment and in a foreign country will do him a power of good and he should return a better and more mature player and person.
I think the move to France will be major for him and hopefully an opportunity to really kick start his career. Sometimes players need to move away to really get to grips with their careers. We’ll have to see"
