BBC Radio Humberside understands #HullFC has come to an agreement with the Inland Revenue to clear a seven figure outstanding tax bill.

So that's the reason kath baled out on her cash cow.

If the club has cleared a £1m+ tax bill how is that not a story?

If you rememeber Pearson said it was the first thing he had to sort when he bought the club, I think (although Mrs B will probabaly put me right) with the changes in off shore payment rules most clubs will have this problem and the fact our board had ignored it was the reason that Pearson got the club at a 'knock down' price, compared with what he was asked for it in 2003, he has loads of experience of handling this sort of thing, and it would appear that he has sorted it.

Still a saving of £1m ish is not to be sniffed at and Pearson said the money will be invested elsewhere.

What did the report say?

Did they mean it was £2m reduced to £1m or £3m to £2m?



Considering the cap for the whole squad is £1.65m, this must go back years and cover a long period of time. As Jake says, wonder how many other clubs have similar liabilities? Can't for a minute imagine we're the only club that's used this mechanism, but if any had this sort of liability it could tip them over the edge. Crikey.

Most clubs reference the image rights point as a potential liability in their accounts - anyone know whether there's been a decision on that one? Seem to think Leeds were a test case?

Normally, they are pretty much the same thing as any agreement would be conditional payment within an agreed (and normally short) time frame and if you fail to adhere to the terms of the agreement then you end up paying the full whack.
