As some-one who has been very Hurt and Angry about events this week I would just like to make this observation for you all to ponder on. We as a Club have been put in the spotlight over the Martin Gleeson afair. OK we were as a club very stupid in highnsite taking on Gleeson. (At the time I thought this was a great signing on a 18 month contract) but he ho we were all wrong.

My point is Hull as a Club are now the brunt of all that is wrong in RL but lets look at were all the real problems lie - in what place in this country - what place is the common demenator for all our sports ills as far as illegal Drugs - Dare I suggest Wigan.

Name the names folks !!!!

While I have sympathy with the post, please DON'T name names.



Also we have Gleeson Rule and Cooper to blame. No one else.

No actually I dont need Sherry or any other Old fashioned drink to have a think about things - can you give us an opinion about what I have just said - perhaps not its not your style is it. Mr one Liner

I did not name names I just asked people to think about this and that includes all out there in the RL world - they kow the names they are in the public domain. I dont like my City (and by that included Hull KR) supporters being maligned by others .

I know you didn't but the above is asking others to.



I hate that my non RL supporting friends are thinking "drugs" when I talk to them about RL because of Gleeson, Rule and Cooper, not Hull FC. It may be that we have to take some grief for a while, but knowing that a) they're gone and b) we're now clean, is a good, if not great, start

Ok = I take your point and I think you take mine - and I hope you are right that we are now clean . Roll on the season with proper young and healthy players eh. LOL

Come on people it was slimming pills for gods sake i know its a banned substance but its not exactly performance enhancing or class a drugs, i for one couldnt give a monkeys what people think of hull fc because the fact is this sort of stuff probably goes on at alot of pro sports clubs and probably alot worse goes on aswell.



All the people involved in this have now left the club so lets not get too hung up in it all.

Adam Pearson has come in and cleaned house from top to bottom, he cannot do anything about what happenned before he took over except take the brunt of all the very bad publicity.



I am appalled like everyone else over this matter and its bringing the name of the club I love into disrepute but i fully support the new Board and really believe they will turn the club around for the better, just wont happen overnight and they could have done without this.



I like everyone else will just have to take the brunt of the dobbins jokes and everyone else but I still love my club and I will be there as passionate as ever at the first match.

I dont see what all the fuss is about? one player who took advice without checking it through or taking a second opinion. & club officials trying to protect the club & said player. OK it turned out to be the wrong descision but no great disaster. No doubt other clubs will have similar episodes in days to come but it should not in anyway reflect on the majority of players supporters & officials. The whole doping & testing agencies are partly to blame as they wont ever except that not every player is a cheat & that the average person can not be expected to understand every detail of the products they take in thier diet. A lot of amature players would fail tests as half the stuff we are prescribed by our doctors or buy over the counter would make us fail.

Somewhat of an overreaction isn't it? The people involved aren't even at the club any more and the fuss will soon die down.



And TBH I think trying to deflect attention onto a whole different club is just a tad pathetic.

There appears to be a very blaise mood on here toward the offending behaviour of Gleeson, Cooper and Rule.



Don't you realise the seriousness of their offences; the issuing of a sum total of 7 years in bans surely makes you sit up?



It is irrelevant whether the potion can be bought over the counter or that the rules over legality of drugs and medicines are confusing and convoluted:



The fact is the potion taken by Gleeson was illegal.

The fact is the RFL circulates each and every player and coaching staff with the guidelines.

The fact is the potion taken by Gleeson was included on the illegal list from 2010.

The fact is drug-abuse risk is an everyday concern of players and coaching staff, even more so when a player falls ill or needs supplements etc.



For me. there can be no excuses. The rules have been clearly abused - be it through ignorance (Cooper) and gullibility (Gleeson accepting Coopers word). However, IMO, the more serious aspect of this affair is why did Rule feel it necessary to act in the way he did; why did he feel he could cover up Cooper's ignorance which led to the sequence of events resulting in bans (and ruin)?



I suggest this latter point is of more concern to our ruling bodies than the transgressions of Gleeson and Cooper.

Well for a start , they are not illegal drugs. They are banned substances in sporting competitions(alcohol is even on certain lists)



The banned list includes pseudoephedrine, glycerol and salbutomol, which are all regualry found in day to day medicines.



Even caffeine is part of the monitoring program.

He took slimming pills . They are hardly performance enhancing! As has been stated , they were not illegal.

The major thing here is the cover up by Rule . That was the stupid thing .

As for people hating Hull FC , who cares ! Bring on 2012 and lets do our talking on the pitch ! The potential is now in place for Hull FC to become one of , if not the biggest Club in SL.

Lets all get behind Adam, Shaun, Peter and all the players and show that the Black and White Nation is about to wake up!
