| I'd play him at fullback. i think that the strongest asset of his game is his running and playing at fullback will allow him to link into the line, plus he's not too bad under the high ball.
However, I'd be concerned about his fitness and if he is to be our fullback next year then we'd have to make sure we sign up an understudy for the games where Horne can't play.
However, if we're able to get Russell from Wigan then I would do as he looks a great prospect, although I doubt this would happen.

| Russell wud be great he wud be trained by our experienced players and with a coach like Gentle he would come on leaps and bounds. I would rather have him and Horne as a back up cos Horne is too injury prone now

| I am fairly happy with him to go to f/back,he is good under the high ball, however my concerns are his injury record and who do we have as a realistic back-up.

| Quote Whiting="Whiting"We do have Westerman who, I know, isnt the greatest half back around but could slot in.
The Wigan situation, we had both our halves out and our 13 which must be a pretty rare occasion.
I also think Ellis still has much improving to do and wouldn't like to write him off just yet.
I think we're arguing the same point here, I'm all for bringing a 6 in and if Hornes going to be at fullback then he's readily available to slot in. We've also got Heremiah who hasn't even featured yet
The part I don't agree with is spending cap money on a half back who's only role is a back up. We'll improve massively as soon as Heremiah starts playing'"
My main issues with Horne at full back are that it's not the position he's played the most throughout his career. At the twilight of his career, he's not got much improving in him there, so if he's not outstanding this year then we should be looking for better long-term prospects; and that his injury record is really poor.
Personally, the injury record is the main issue for me. You can't build a team around a player that spends half the season in the treatment room.

| i think horne should have moved to fullback a few years ago.he will be able to see and hit the gaps better and for me isnt as creative as a modern 6 should be(though still talented).
would go with seymour n ellis at 6/7(lets give the kid a chance to learn off seymour/horne and not annihilate him for every mistake as some fans have done to some prospects in the past) .
i do wonder about a club of our size using loan players.doesnt say much about our own young players development at the club

| i think the TEAM would benifit most from a new exciting stand off for next season, and this is why Horne should switch to fullback. weather the move brings the best out of Horne comes second over what would improve the team most.

Horne moving to fullback would protect him from most of the tackling and hits he'd be getting fronting up within the defensive line , The knock on effect of this would be less contact , Less chance of injury . He has always linked well within the attacking role so Why not give him a go there.

| Horne has a boomerang likeness about him, when the fans are collectively starting to turn on him, and start suggesting he should be moved on. he'll string enough good performances together to silence the critics. having said that i dont think he's had a bad game all season, despite rarely being outstanding. the main problem i see is that we hardly ave the luxury of seeing how he goes in the full back role for the rest of the season before making a decision, because new targets need to be approached earlier than that. Gentle has maybe already got it all worked out based on what he has seen in training.

| I don't think we'll miss McKinnon at all as soon as Horne is fit and ready to fill in.

| Full back is gonna be a very hard position to fill next season what with Greenshields, Webb, Mckinnon all going home plus Mcdonnell moving on so moving Horne to full back is a master stroke imo. His body may struggle at times but he'll be better than most teams FBs next season and it leaves us with the option of bringing in another HB which is something far more important to the team and in an ideal world id love Brough back
