Because maybe he has become less and less confident that we will be challenging for silverware in the coming years, whereas he is more or less guaranteed to be in at least one final a year with Saints, especially with the new coach coming in there. |

The thing is even when Saints don't look like they'll do much, they actually do. And as he's coming to the end of his career I don't think he'd want to wait a few years to find out if this regime will work out. (I'm not knocking this regime, I'm a massive fan of Gentle and Pearson) |

The side improved this season and played some good rugby, since players have been told their not longer required or have accepted other deals we've gone backwards quickly. |
