For all of Lauaki's faults, of which there are many, he is a big unit that scares defenses and attracts a number of defenders, all valuable attributes which will be missed

| Quote PAUL M="PAUL M"Never been a big Seymour fan tbh mainly as they are so many other quality halves out in the NRL. That said he is exactly what we need, a good organising scrum half with a decent kicking game and at the right age. His link up with Heremaia will also prove very useful and Seymour could have a major influence on the way we play and has bags of experience so I think we should be pleased with the recruitment so far.'"
Seymour may not be one of the top half backs in the NRL but he could well become one of the best half backs in Super League such is the difference in standard between the two competitions.

he will not be missed for just being big, however he would be missed if he could ever have repeated his try at fog bound saints last season but alas he never did

i hope you are right, however Matt Orford came over with a big reputation and how poor was he, Seymour is a good age and i am sure he will give us what we have been missing, i just hope that he doesn`t get built up to be some sort of messiah who will sort out all our failings on his own.

Seymour is a good halfback but never rated him that highly when compared to others in the NRL. He could well be a top player over here though so I welcome his signing and think he will be exactly what we need.
I don't question Heremaia as a player but do wonder why we signed a hooker when we had Obst/Houghton. Maybe Houghton is going, or maybe Heremaia brings different qualities such as an excellent kicking game.
Lauaki has hardly given any pens away this season, not checked the stats but I would be pretty certain on that. He always attracts a lot of defenders and makes yards but he is a player your either love or hate.

McKinnon is probably the most exciting signing provided he stays fit but I am happy with all three overseas signings although would question the need for Heremaia.
O'Meley will be staying and don't think Moa is to far away from being agreed so it just means we are lacking in the pack. It's okay saying we won't miss Lauaki but we don't have youngsters that can make the impact he does from the bench. We must sign at least one prop/backrow and then maybe promote a youngster or two.'"
I wouldn't even have him to the 17 at the moment.
Made 3 crucial errors on sunday that allowed Bradford back in the game.
He does about 1/2 good runs a game that is it.

Which is their call, I happen to like him and think with a better coach we could get far more from him.

| Very happy with these signings but I agree with Paul that a "quota" hooker didn't seem all that necessary, given what we already have with houghton/Obst.
We need at least two new forwards because, as someone has already said, we are looking light in numbers there and have had a relatively injury-free season in the forwards.
Fitz's replacement will have to be real quality because his contribution is absolutely immense and just cannot be easily found.

Think Tickle will step into Fitz's role tbh. Not getting into the LF argument so saying in terms of work ethic etc he will really step up.

Very happy with Tickle, Manu, Westerman as a backrow. Dare I say it, as good as any in SL but after those three, we look very light indeed if Fitz and Lauaki leave.
The front row also concerns me because, even if/when Moa and O'Meley are confirmed, it only gives us three props with yet another 1yr decision to make on Dowes.
In an ideal world, 1 prop, 1 backrower and replace Dowes with better, if possible. Finding 2/3 British forwards will be very difficult indeed which leaves me feeling very concerned about next season's pack. Hopefully we have irons in the fire.
