its good news, but a cynic would question how much was saved by Crocker not arriving, and how much was saved by not hiring a competent head coach.

But partially offsetting that saving we paid a transfer fee of £30k for Tansey plus his wages for part of the season plus Cordoba. I agree about Agar but we still had the wrong coaching structure IMO last season with him, Jon Sharp and Lee Crooks. Could get better value for money from their combined salaries. |

Qn, these must be the 08/09 accounts, so the Tansey payment etc wont be in them as it happened after April/May, surely that (and the payment of contracts for released players) will be in the next set of accounts? |

I'm sure that may have contributed but not as much as some would think. We've used the cash in other ways i believe to any profit we announce will still be true profit comparable to the previous 5 years we've named one.  |

Wrong as usual on both counts as we have reduced our debt from £2.4m in 2004 to £1.4m in 2008 and this latest result should help.
Saints debt is £6.5m and you have accumulated losses of £5.2m. Good job you own your own ground, which is valued at £8.1m. Also interesting that the notes to the accounts discuss confirmation of directors' continuing support and that's the reason the accounts have been prepared on a going concern basis. |
