| Quote Jake the Peg="Jake the Peg"Our attack is hopeless though. Unless we see a massive improvement we have no chance of the top 8. Other than leeds and maybe saints, no one is showing any form so your 22 point target may actually be higher'"
I agree our attack is hopeless. But at this stage it's too much to say there's no chance.
If we had played Wakefield today as planned and got the result we would have been 8th at worst (possibly 7th had Rovers lost to Salford). That is with everyone playing each other once.
Yes we've played badly, but there are plenty of average teams in this league. If we can grind out some results when we need them there's no reason we can't scrape in.

| Quote Jake the Peg="Jake the Peg"It's no surprise though is it? We're a disorganised rabble in attack thanks to our clueless coach. Leigh looked so much better than we do with ball in hand with a squad which is probably paid a 1/4 of what ours is'"
They also made a lot of ground with ball in hand the same as Widnes did last week and that's a worry.
Our attack though is embarrassing.
No doubt we will have that flyer Yeaman back in the centre next week.

How forlorn and desperate is this last - accurate - sentence. Could anyone believe this would be a realistic post now given where we were 3 years ago? We're supposed to have been through all this after Agar.

Absolutely, 8th wouldn't be good enough by half, but at least we don't have to worry about survival if we get there.
If we do finish 8th it will be interesting to see what Pearson's reaction to it is. If he hails it as a good season I might have to dig out his "never will 8th be seen as a success while I'm in charge" quote for the fans forum, or at least email it to him.

| I just can't believe that Radders didn't rest Pryce, Houghton and Minichiello for starters. They've all played big minutes and after a gruelling Easter they could have done with a rest.
Clearly shows that Radders was worried of a bad result if we weren't near full strength. Perfect time to play some kids.

if we had rested pryce we could easily have lost! even moving sa to 6 didnt help!
rankin was too predictable, high kick to the winger everytime who made metres on each return

I wasn't at the game but I can't see that Pryce would have made much difference regardless of how well he played. Our only tactic is to batter the opposition into submission. We may aswell have played another prop at 6.

pryce, along with paea, was mainly the reason we were out of sight first half
second half was dire, no direction at all!

Chuck in Thompson and I fully agree. Whatever the rights and wrongs of it, given it looked rocky at 12-22 we may well have been out in this round had key players been rested IMO.

It seemed that Pryce was our main attacking threat and his exit from the pitch coincided with our finding it even more difficult than normal to score points.
