My only slight concern now would be a dip in Shaul's form with the knowledge that he doesn't have McD competing with him for the FB jersey.'"
Tanaloa plays Fullback and when Biggs gets here their will be competition for places across the back line. |

If McDonnell goes the one other [inamed[/i full back in the first team squad on the FC site perhaps intriguingly is Rankin. |

No brainer for me Shaul is the future and the money is needed to strengthen our pack.
its a shame as hes a good solid player but needs must.

I honestly believe that if given an extended run together Rankin and Miller could develop into a very good half back pairing. |

Tough one, ultimately looks like too much cap on FB with Shaul earning the jersey and 3 others who can cover.. Must have been a horrible injury, hope he gets back soon.
Great news about Tuson if he only misses 2 rounds, a big boost, that.

Absolutely they could and should be given the chance to prove or disprove that theory. We made a decision to bring Miller in so surely we should test out that judgement , albeit the previous coach's , by giving him a bit of game time with a proper halfback partner and behind a "first choice" pack rather than one or two games with the kids? |

Real shame if we do release McDonnell, I can understand the thinking behind it though. He's a talent and if this rumour is true and he does get released then I wish him the best of luck wherever he ends up!

Shannon's a class fullback but clearly McRae overpaid again. Shaul will be on half his wage. Plus we have Rankin, Talanoa, Horne and even Lord Whiting of Anlaby who can play there adequately.
