A massive slap around the chops!!!'"
The quarter-finals are harder to sell as there's no guarantee of who's playing. This is why Wigan have been given a quarter as their only game in the WC.
Wales are likely to feature in the Wrexham game.
Warrington is a smaller venue for what is likely to be a game not involving the big three.
Leeds have two games, likely to be NZ in the quarter. They're trying to sell Leeds as the HQ for NZ and build a following there.
Makes sense when you think about it. Some are just moaning for the sake of it.

| Quote Errlee Berd="Errlee Berd"WOW. Is it the same bit of woodwork you lot keep crawling out of?
England vs Australia is being played as the Opening Game at the Millenium. It's likely to attract in excess of 50,000 (which is what Standee is eluding to). Why on Earth would the KC be given this game when demand is way in excess of the KC's capacity? That doesn't make sense.
Hull have been given THREE World Cup games. That's more than any other host city.
One of those games is an England game versus some very good opposition in Fiji (who finished fourth in 200icon_cool.gif boasting some world class players. Out of all the group games (barring the opener), this one has arguably the highest profile and will be a bloody good game.'"
So do you not think we deserve Oz or NZ playing in Hull because either Leeds Wigan wire or Wrexham will be getting them in a quater final.
I really think the RL supporters in Hull deserve the chance to see at least one of the best sides in the world playing playing in the city this year.

What do you mean by 'deserve'?
You'd rather see Australia play a dead rubber against Ireland (for instance) than the host nation (& third best team in the world) against the fourth best in the world?
The tri-nations/4-nations games played at the KC all involved England/GB and were close to sell out, that is why the KC was given an England games.
In the 2000 World Cup, Australia played at the Boulevard. Just 3,000 people went.

| The rfl's decision to play at Cardiff and Wembley has been justified by ticket sales of 50k+ for each game so far.
For anyone struggling for transport for Wembley...try looking for travelodges on the outskirts of london or off the A1 or M1, some bargain £30-40 rooms to be had, and you can get cheap trains in to london from the commuter towns.

Yep. The games that seem to be struggling are the ones in the Heartlands at the moment.

I wonder how many of this city's 18,000 or so regular supporters will be doing this?

| The cheapest that I have managed to get the trains is around £77.
Are there any cheaper ways that anyone knows of to be able to get to both games but still be able to enjoy a few hours in London?
If not then I'm gonna just have to go with what I've found haha

| As I advised above try looking at travelodges in the Watford, harrow, elstree, luton etc areas if you don't mind driving down. Managed to get a hotel and match ticket (with discount code) for a bargain £45

You don't deserve anything if you can't sell out England vs Fiji, especially considering England vs Ireland (a lesser fixture) is pretty much already sold out at Huddersfield.

Agreed Huddersfield is putting Hull to shame at the moment. Who decided the ticket prices for the game at the KC? At the Hudds game best seats are £20 and same at KC it is £40. Don't see how they can justify the difference.

I agree on that point, Fiji are better opposition than Ireland, but £10 more would have been enough. Maybe the KC costs more to hire than the John Smith's?
