just wondering if motu might still be involved with overseas recruitment to some extent, with him being based down there in future and with his contacts in nz and aus. would be useful, and might save the club sending someone halfway round the world to conduct negotiations

Remember, we do also have a CEO who runs the company. The GM position is very much focused to the Team. Personally I think its something Ellis COULD be good at. He would have six months of shadowing Tony to gain some practical experience and could use his contacts throughout the game.

CEO, in name yeah we do, he's not very experienced at taking the helm of company this size though, if any company of note aside from his own previously in fact.

So, would rather have someone from outside the club with a proven record who can take the next step for the club as opposed to sentimental jobs for past players because they're friends with the coach or were 'popular' with team-mates/fans.

Shaun Briscoe will be a suitable relationship surely as an out and out specialist general manager rather than the utility value Motu provided by filling in In the role...

If peacock can do the job I'm sure Ellis could , but I guess it depends what the role actually involves

James Clark has no experience as a CEO of even a small sized company, so the expectation as alluded to upthread that he could take on the managerial/business side of what Motu Tony's role involved in my opinion isn't wise nor practical.
