Just returned from my first away trip of the season. Total embarrassment would sum it up sufficiently well.

Yeah, I bet they'de love to leave Cas to come to Hull.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the incident at half time when Houghton kept the lads on the pitch for a while and gave them a talking too before they went off to the dressing room.

Radford apologised to his club's fans following what he described as a capitulation by his players, who asked the coaching staff to leave them to themselves immediately after the game.



"Words don't put it into words if I'm being honest," Radford said in the post-match press conference. "We simply capitulated and it's my responsibility as a coach.



"I can only apologise to our supporters who came all this way and sang all the way through. It's also my job to try fix it up and that's what I'll try to do.



"As a rugby player you're told to compete and that stopped being a competition after 20 minutes.



"It's the most difficult defeat to take for sure (during his tenure). To have no fightback was embarrassing and the staff have just been kicked out of the changing room by the players.



"I 've no idea why they asked us to leave, they just asked us to - it's never happened in my career before."

The players asking them to leave the dressing room is the most bizarre thing I've ever heard. And Radford sounded broken, frankly.



I'm loath to suggest this means players have doubts as three weeks ago we were 'the Widnes' of the competition. But something is not right already. Worried. Should Pearson act?

When your staff/charges, even you're own children cannot openly say what they need to say to you or in your presence then ypu have a fairly serious problem.

I imagine it was about some of the players wanting to berate each other for the performance and hopefully if they had any respect for the club/fans vow that that never happens again.

Less likely is a revolution against Radford but not being able to say all those things whatever it is without Radford there is a concern.

Can it be enough to change the attitude of the players, short term maybe, long term I'm doubtful.

I've banged on about the mental aspect of sport/rugby but time and again get scoffed at. This game and indeed the last two to a lesser extent show how important the development of people (players) to cope with situations/use strategies to overcome and maintain your level of performance are massively important and.continue to be ignored/underestimated.
