| Quote UllFC="UllFC"I also don't buy the injuries excuse, it is attacking creativity we lack, and the only creative players out are Holdsworth and Seymour (who's proven he isn't good enough anyway) Ellis, Yeaman, Lynch etc are good players who will make a difference, but we won't suddenly start playing attacking free-flowing rugby when they return.'"
So our problem is lack of creativity, our only creative players are out injured, but you don't buy the 'injuries excuse'?
How does that work then?
Oh - and attacking creativity is not our only problem. I only wish it were.

The attacking structures and set plays should still be in place regardless of who is playing, on Friday it was glaringly obvious that we have no attacking moves in our nal at all. That isn't down to players being injured, that's down to the training (or lack of)
but I suppose the happy clappy fans just assume that the injured players will return and we'll start playing like the Harlem Globetrotters and head to the top of the table

Did you not see the interview with Gentle? The one where he specifically said that we simplified things so not to put too much pressure on our 2nd row halves? That to me says we didn't put our normal structures in place due to injuries.

| It is worrying though that our entire attacking structures rely on Holdsworth & McDonnell, and that due to their injuries the rest of the team can't settle into them and grow accustomed.

Despite all of his moaning, it was Peter Gentles choice to go with Westerman and Whiting in the halves. He could have gone with Horne and Heremai (sp) who must have 500 first grade games between them at half back and move Whiting to full back where he has proved in the past he is more than competent.
Instead he opted to try and out muscle Rovers and bizzarely employ an interchange half back whilst running your hooker into the ground who must have done about 60 tackles leaving nothing in the tank to attack.

I agree in a way with regards to houghton..
But what more could gentle do to be honest. Yes possibly start horny in the halves with whiting full back, but didn't horny actually play in the halves when we were attacking with whiting playing a more LF role. In defense horny at full back and whiting out wide to provide extra cover.

Totally agree regarding attacking structures.one of the big failings,is our inability to get off the floor quickly, for a quick play the ball.
Shaun Wane was furious with his team at HT versus St Helens on Friday,
as his team were too slow getting off the floor to play the ball, this meant his halves had nothing to play on the back of ,a slow play the ball.
I don't understand why our 17 fulltime players, cannot attain this basic skill.

| Never mind slow play of the ball - keeping the ball long enough to get tackled would be a start, let's not walk before we can run eh!

What EHFCF said.
Also, we had attacking structures last season and in the first few games of this season up until Holdsworth's injury. Since then we have been adjusting structures in an attempt to fit them to available personnel. Gentle has referred to this in almost every interview. I guess people aren't listening.
Fans have been down to training and seen us practising attacking plays and structures. This part of the coaching is not an issue. What [iis[/i an issue is that without Holdsworth on the pitch we apparently have a group of players utterly unable to put the coaches instructions into practice. I don't know why that is or whose fault it is, and frankly I don't care. It needs to be fixed and Gentle has to come up with a way to do that, regardless of whether it's his fault or not.
Oh - and your last comment is just stupid. Sorry to be blunt but TBH I'm fed up with people only being able to see two polar opposite positions on this. It's perfectly possible to be unhappy with the way things are and still be rational about the reasons behind it.
