He's been injured for the last 2 years so how could he do anything?



You may be right re him never getting back to his best which is why I said IF he was fully fit.



Much as I like Houghton he isn't anywhere near as good as a fully fit Motu and doesn't have the versatility anyway

Only 26 according to wiki. Plenty of time left for him if he can get fit

Hes had games for us in those 2 years and didnt do anything. Hes getting older now so injuries will start coming even more often.

If he can get fully fit he's a great player. Was in great form prior to the first knee injury. Big IF on the injury front though

Tony burst on to the international scene in 2001 as a 19-year-old.





Makes him 27. HTH.

In which case he must have had a diffucult paper round.





A good 5 or 6 years left in him then providing he can get fit.

With all the injuries we've had over the past couple of seasons, I have personally felt that Motu's was the most significant for the club. A strange view perhaps, but when you consider the number of positions he can cover, we may well have been left with far fewer holes in the first team. The same goes I think for Richard Whiting. If a couple of years ago when things were really bad with injuries we'd had a fit motu and a fit Whiting, we may not have been in an injury 'crisis' at all.



As for his future, I really hope he gets another SL club. Given the lack of available players at the moment, and the fact that he would be fine on the visa front, I can't see why Crusaders don't go for him. They have a pretty skinny squad and the clock is ticking, he could over positions there as he did for us.

Pleased for Motu, hope him all the best down at Hull Rugby Union. Good bunch of lads down there, worked with them on some school rugby stuff and he will fit right in.

I hope he will still be around Hull FC though - he could do a great job for us in the community.
