Wasn't referring to today in particular about Westeman, I was using it as a high profile example of Agar's recruitment not working.
We didn't particularly need Westerman, what we needed was another half-back (Obst obviously wasn't signed until much later) and the fact we signed him to play 2nd row just baffles me. |

Crowds are already down on last season and we only make a small profit as it is...crowds dropping further will spring them in to action. Once we dip through that 10K barrier it will ring (belated) alarm bells in the boardroom. |

if the club has ambition to win trophies they have to remove agar from head coach, the sticking point imo is kath, living close together and being a mate is killing the club slowly

I aren't particularly excited by any of the signings we've made for next season either. Two average NZers and a youngster playing in the Championship (hopefully will do a job for us) is hardly going to sell season tickets and is hardly the spark this team needs.
We don't appear to be bringing any of our own youngsters through to the levels of the other top clubs. Instead we are relying on average squad players moved out of position.
Recruitment is also another of Agar's flaws, and that is something that got Sharpe the sack ultimately.

Unlike brown of Huddersfield Agar is unable to work up youngsters. Apart from those signings that were all successful before they arrived I cannot think of any that have worked? |

Also for the new coach to iron out this teams weakness....we know Sharp is dogey,as was Whiting by all accounts (thats for Paul  ) and other players are as well.

I'd settle for that baldy, however I honestly believe this lot won't sack him and he'll see out his contract. |
