To be honest I'm a little sad that it didn't quite work out for Rich, I really wanted it too. All the best for the future to him, I don't think anyone can argue that he worked hard for our club.

Having said that I'm glad Bomber is in at DOR. He understands what Hull FC '[iis[/i' and more importantly he knows how rugby should be played. He'll find the right coach.

Bet there's a few twitchy ringpieces amongst the Wakey fanbase.

Forgetting Mr Agar for a second (Which shouldn't be very hard to do) lets think a little objectively about this appointment.



McRae seems to have failed everywhere he's been since Hull. He was also very close to retirement at the end of this season. That all appears to be bravado now but still, if he had, I wouldn't have been too surprised.



I don't want to come across harsh on the man, he's the first FC coach I can truly remember. As a kid I thought he was the knees of a bee, but I'm a little unsure now as to his credentials.



Maybe I just don't know what a DOR [iactually[/i is and I'm a little confused about his role. That might be creating the doubt.



Will the new coach be working under him? If so, will every candidate want to do that?



Agar is gone.



However a little restraint might be in order.



Can we fully clarify what he'll do, recruitment aside, 'Shaun will be responsible for all aspects of the playing side at the club' seems a little vague to me.

As overjoyed as I am by this announcement, I genuinely feel sorry for Wakefield fans. If they were desperate to see the end of Kear, god knows how they will react to this news.
