| Charnley is very fast and underestimated over distance.
Because of his bulk people think he ain't that fast and he is.
A Lineham v Charnley chase would have been an interesting one.
Charnley though was a sprinter in his school days.
You have to give Shaul more game time next year than this.
Bet him and Crooks have blinders on Friday.

Didn't affect Charnley's. Was disappointed actually, thought he was quicker than that. Should have checked back inside and gone for the sticks.

| Both Jamie Shaul and Jason Crookes have explosive acceleration off the mark but they're not length of the field sprinters.
Tom Lineham is nowhere near as quick off the mark but once he gets going he really does go for a big bloke. Agree that Charnley v Tommy would be an interesting race to watch!

Before making glib statements like that, I suggest you brush up on the Knock On in Laws of the game.
How many times it bounces towards the Wigan dead ball line is totally irrelevant

Yeah, that's the one. He went through the defensive line and rounded the FB on that occasion, he wasn't in a direct sprint with anyone.

| As good a break and run it was the cover tackle from Charnley was outstanding and maybe a match winning play IMO

Then you didnt understand my point which was not related to the offside rule per se but the statement that O'Loughlin is closer to our line than Charnley when he knocks the ball out. Watch the replay he isnt. Presumably the ref sees it simply as Shaul dropping the ball because he has to protect it??

It's a simple fact:
Charnley knocked the ball out of Shaul's grip towards HIS (Charnley's) opponent's dead ball line. There's your knock on.
O'Loughlin came from an offside position and collected the ball. O'Loughlin was never played on-side. There's your penalty

Agree....it wasn't either.....
But it should have been!!!!!!!!
1 thing is certain though, all the young lads in the team (including the ones who didn't play ie, Green and Co) will be a lot better for the experience they have gained either playing in, or being involved in, a Wembley Final.
