When Watts, Holdsworth and Ellis return we have the makings of a very good side.

Yes we do.



Just that we still need another half to partner Holdsworth, everybody knows it, and the first five games this season have compounded it.

More so we need luck.

We are lacking another half no doubt but we're not unique.

This weekend alone -we missed holdsworth- we lost

Brough out-hudd lost-miserably!

Wire missing Michael monas & briers lost &they have probably the strongest squad

Rovers have shown they can barely win a game with Dobson and even Leeds in the past have struggled with no sinfield.

We really need a top 7 granted but luck helps massively and were a bit short on it at min.

Is Gleeson on special leave to see his mam?

Or is he off to see the specialist about his fake injury?

I'm not sure the issue is that we need another half to [ipartner[/i Holdsworth - I think Horne can do a decent job of that. Even Nicklas, probably. The problem occurs when Holdsworth doesn't play. What we need is another creative player who can step in to the organising role if Holdsworth is injured.

Our only points this season have come when horne and holdsworth were our half backs

We have absolutely no pace in our halves. Horne is ok but he needs a big gap to be able to get through.



Not many teams have two organising/creative halves, especially one who's just a back up.

Let's be honest, the Horne/Holdsworth combo wasn't exactly rolling off everyones tongues at season start.

Unfortunately were now in the position were it's looking like our only viable pairing.

We needed two halfbacks last off season and got one. Horne is a good back up but problem is we lose Holdsworth and we struggle. That is not our only issue but it's our biggest one.

I wasn't suggesting that we signed a creative player as a back up, merely stating that [ipartnering[/i Holdsworth isn't necessarily the problem - it's what happens when he doesn't play. Of course we should be looking for a half of the sort of quality that they are first choice to play alongside Holdsworth, but mainly so that all of our creative flair doesn't come from one player. If we could 100% guarantee that Holdsworth would play every game, I think Horne could work really well with him (as he did in the Bradford game).
