| Quote airliebird, runninglate!="airliebird, runninglate!" when did you see this? no better or worse than any of the backs really! in fact his first carry stood up n never got took too ground and won a pen fighting for another quick play of the ball. different players are taught different ways to carry ball into contact in different ways in different scenarios. cos he didn't put ball under one arm and charge in doesn't make it weak. Against rovers 20s last week he ran over top of couple of players this week against set lines of big men it was ball in 2hands late foot work n try push through the tackle. Ever speak to a 1st team player about the technical aspects n its an eye opener to how technical the small things are. Bet his metres in contact were comparable to any of the backs!'"
The majority of the kick returns he took in were poor. He gets wrapped up in the tackle, held up, and worked to the floor slowly. This gives the Huddersfield line the chance to set their defence for the rest of the set, and ruins our chances of making some good territory from the resulting runs at the broken defence had we gotten a quick play the ball.
I'm not sure what you're implying about the "under one arm and charge" comment. What makes him weak is his inability to challenge the defender (no footwork to go around and no strength to bust a tackle), and his resulting submission to the tackler sees him dominated and unable to play quickly. He really needs to be able to offer a quick PTB if he can't challenge the line. I've spoken to Brian McDermott a few times in Leeds on his coaching seminars when I was living there last year, so I'm not exactly ignorant to the technical sides of the game.

| Unfortunately i couldn't make the game today so can't comment on his performance. when he first signed a pro contract it was said he was already the fastest in our squad (aged just 17) but on here it's said he had no pace...is this the case?

He looked pretty ordinary for pace and had plenty of chances to show it with the number of breaks Huddersfield made.

| Another Tommy Lee at the very best I am afraid. I saw him as a youngster and never really was blown away by his commitment at club level. Sure he was big and fast , youth RL is full of them. HARDLY any go on to make it

| I agree with Rock Gods comments.
Also if there is a SL player in there, Peter Gentle will see it.
Many on here wanted Sharpy out this season and PG has done a great coaching job on him. Now most everyone see him as good player.
Reece is young, has little big game experience. He can only get better and in time we may see PG can develop him as well.
Lets not be too hasty in dismissing a young player. He needs more games before we can judge him.

| Hopefully Reece will do some serious improving and go on to be a good SL player but currently he looks a million miles away from that. It was difficult to find a redeeming feature about his game yesterday as everything just looked below the standard required. The physical aspects like speed and strength were poor, particularly his speed. The technical aspects like catching and passing were also poor and then the mental side of the game like positioning was also lacking. I want to give the kid a chance but he needs to show something to make it worthwhile perseverering with him and not just in the U20s.

Wasn't Tommy Lee keeping Lunt out of the Hudds side?
Aren't Hudds fans impressed with him?

| Maybe a stint playing at a lower level on a regular basis will do him some good. He is our 4th choice fullback so he is never going to get a long run at fullback if thats his prefered choice.

| He is the perfect example of why young players who are physically and atheltically superior to other players their same age should play in the age group above.
May sound harsh but I dont think he has the dedication to be a top level player and would rather be out with his mates in Sugar Mill in a state telling people who he is.

Or telling the bar people 'money isn't an issue to me'. When he's 17.

Lets hope he is because presently TL is playing some cracking stuff at Huddersfield and keeping a solid player like Lunt I believe out of the side isnt he
as confucius said "he is young but he will learn" and he is very young so give the kid a chance
