You often get the 'win our games and the league looks after itself' platitude trotted out in pretty much any sport with a league structure. Of course it's true as far as it goes, but the fact is that any side winning all it's matches is a super rare event in top level sport. Hence teams are pretty much always dependent on the form of other sides in the same competition.

Against what are our current first team regulars I'd have Welham for Yeamo, Cockayne for Colbon, David Hodgson for whatever winger that gets thrown in there, Keating and Burns for our Half back combo (whoever is Radfords flavour of the week), forward wise I'd take Cox, Green, Lovegrove, Hodgson and Poore if he was fit and could stay out of trouble. They are better than what we have at the moment, I'm not stating they are all better players, but you get pride, passion and 100% effort out of them all and to be fair, quite a bit of quality. You just have to go back to our last Premiership winning squad of 90/91 ? Not a stand out team in terms of names ( Yes I know there were some cracking internationals in the team ) but by and large that team week in week out played with pride and passion in the black and white shirt, which in my opinion won them some matches and was a big reason why they beat a star studded Widnes, they played for one another. I've never been concerned about losing matches if you can say that each and every member of that team gave 100 %, that's not happening at the moment and that's what hurts me.
