Alibert got dropped for counting to seven. Ganson appears to be untouchable no matter what he gets up to and it's not on.

| Pressure needs putting on Cummins by the RFL to sort out the Refs , It needs to be brought up at the SL chairmen's meetings to make sure SL/RFL do something . There's far to many games were we are left talking about wrong decisions during a game than the actual game itself.

Exactly. Well done Pearson, clearly he has shown he has many problems with the RFL and he is not afraid to say so.

There lies the problem though. Who replaces him? Ganson? If Ganson is dropped for a mistake who replaces him? With the numbers of "professional" referees available any sort of punishment is tokenism at best. Alibert didn't look to have improved much for being dropped on yesterday's performance. Maybe fining them would work better? From what I understand if Ganson wasn't telling porkies they're pretty well paid.
Agree wholeheartedly with Pearson though and it needs to be said because at the moment the RFL are smugly patting themselves on the back thinking that they are the best sports administrators around. All of the Chairmen need to be forcing an open debate and making their views and voting patterns known so that we know who is ultimately sanctioning the way the game is run , promoted and refereed.

| Good Luck Mr Pearson, but I suspect you are doomed to failure altering the RFL has been a graveyard of so many CEO's/owners and chair persons over the years.
We need a larger pool of officials so we they can be kept on top form. At the moment they can have a series of bad games and nothing happens much unless you are French. By having ten or twelve full time officials they can be graded very week and a poor grade sends them to the lower divisions the following week. If the are constantly marked down they should be re trained and if it continues replaced as in the real world. The reviewing panel need to be made up of a former official, a former player and chaired by an RFL official with full in depth knowledge of the operational rules.
I know officials make mistakes, I think the French one made several yesterday but there is a whole world of difference between him and others constant " mistakes". We need the officials to be fair, consistant and with a level of professionalism, they are falling well short of that goal currently.

I really don’t know much about how it all works, but do we need a ‘Cummins’?
Wouldn’t it be better with a panel to sort things out, like perhaps the fourth officials.

| There's also Jon Sharp who is in charge of referees development or something. Probably spending too much on admin instead of more officials on the pitch.

| What bemused me about magic weekend was that there seemed to be a few reffs who i had not been aware of before whos officiating was spot on, in these games the matches flowed hadly any whistle blowing totally enjoyable games to watch !
then turn your attention to "well established" refs and the games become all about them !
Also as a side point Why if the RFL are going to mess around with silly little rule changes why not introduce When at a game with video officals make them the overriding offical (not wait to be of assistance) if game play has stopped, and for god sake allow then to rule on a forward pass by not ruling on a forward pass they allowing "cheating" to be rewarded. They have the technology use it.
