No ade gardner in the 24!!!

No Burrow

The alphabetical thing is a bit confusing, so I just did this for myself from the 24 man squad.



Backs: Bridge, S. Briscoe, Fox, Hall, Shenton, Smith, Sykes.



Half-backs: Eastmond, Myler, McGuire, Tomkins.



Props: Burgess, Carvell, Crabtree, Graham, Morley, Peacock.



Hookers: Moore, Roby.



Backrow: Ellis, O'loughlin, Westwood, Wilkin, Sinfield.



With one or two minor exceptions I think that is fair enough. Certainly forward looking.



No Wellens, Pryce or Burrow!

Must be injured, pretty decent squad (except Sykes

) and no real suprises.



However I am not a fan of seeing Lee Smith in the squad, he is leaving the game next season so dont see the point in playing him. The lack of backs must be areason.



Also no Pryce, know I know he has been poor for Saints as stand off but he would have been a better bet that Sykes and Smith at centre.

Right decision i think, about time an international coach dropped the out of form players.

I've never been Smith's biggest fan, but this isn't a development squad. We should pick the best available players and if he is one of them I'm fine with it. I've got no issue with him going to Union and I'd hope we wouldn't regard players who do as traitors or anything silly like that.

Fox needs to step up to his early/mid season form if he is to make any impression. He has been more noticeable for his errors recently.



Really pleased for Briscoe, this will hopefully make up for the dissapointment of missing the WC last year. Why has Sykes been included? His displays last year were reminiscent of Krusty the Clown.

I am sure Fox won't let anyone down, he fully deserves his place, as he did in the SL Dream Team.

The Aussies will make an absolute fool of Fox.

I would word it kinder but i tend to agree.



Rumour has it that Sean Long is running a book to see how many 40/20s the Aussies kick past him.

Bit harsh, and to be fair, with the likes of Inglis, Hodges, Slater and Thurston in the squad the whole of a very inexperienced England back line look to be in for a very tough test.
