I feel the Rugby Leagure should ask for Ganson to resign we the get rid of him for good and not before time IMO He has made enough mistakes if any normal working guy had made the same mistakes has him over the years he would have gone a long time ago

I don't see what him quitting would achieve.



What needs to happen is an investigation as to how such a clear error can be avoided in the future.

He shouldnt be given the chance to resign , he should be sacked.

The fact that he hasnt already been given the elbow suggests to me that as far as the clown college at red hall are concerned , the matter is closed.

As a Rovers fan of more than 30 years I'm as angry at the 'Try' call as the next fan but to say Ganson should be sacked or even resign is completely disproportionate to the mistake. Contrary to some on here I'm convinced that Steve is an honest bloke who made an (unexplainable) honest mistake. I would never condone anyone wanting to take away a mans livelihood and I also firmly believe that he will improve the Refs performances over time.

We don't need an investigation as to how to avoid it, it's very simple to avoid, you look at the video replay and be 'honest'



Poor refereeing is a problem and has been for a long time, too many referees seem to let things go for the so called 'bigger teams' and use a different criteria for others. When you play Leeds or Wigan you know that you will be victim to clear forwards, offsides and PTB's that are so ridiculously illegal it's mind boggling, but rarely will they get pulled, whereas teams like Salford, Cas, Widnes, KR and the like will get no leniency whatsoever. If you watch the Leeds v Wigan game you will see lot's of incidents of Wigan players just rolling the ball between their legs while pushing away the defender, with no attempts to even appear to make an effort to play it with the foot.



While I hate the number of forward passes that go on, it is sometimes easy to understand how they are missed, especially as the players are so fit and fast the officials cannot keep up (we had an incident against Wakefield when there was a clear forward pass, but the linesman, who looked as though his legs were in pain was about 20 metres behind the play) with them, but Saturdays incident was more than a mistake in my opinion, it was far too easy to see (even live as it happened) to be just a mistake.

The argument that "the big teams get away with everything" is simply not true. When was the last time you heard our fans shout "Forward" when we have thrown one, it just does not happen. As fans we are conditioned to look for decision errors against us whilst ignoring our own errors, it's just human nature. I'd rather concentrate on supporting the team than bagging the refs, other teams and their fans. When did you last hear us applaud an outstanding try from the opposition, I seem to recall it happening a lot against touring teams and this just highlights how one-eyed and tribalistic we all are.

When I watch Rovers it's from the east stand or an away ground and I cannot see everything I must admit, but as a Sky subscriber I tend to watch 95% of televised games, which is where I base my opinion on.

Ganson's position would probably be untenable if there was a queue of other possible/qualified/suitable candidates. As it is, there isn't - so his job is probably safe and therein lies the problem with officiating right across RL in this country.

As a Sky subscriber, I tend to find the officiating at a decent level in most televised games. Strangely enough I think they're inept after a Hull game when we've been on the wrong end of 50/50 decisions, and I thought they were tip top this last weekend.
