Fair play to Mickey and his agent for being open, honest and upfront.
Rovers offered him [ua lot[/u of money to stay but Mickey's preference is to return to the NRL for a number of reasons.
I think there's a chance we may see him back at Rovers in a few years anyway.

Gutted....but not a shock as long as goes to the nrl I wouldnt be that miffed. He said rovers were a good place to be the other week and building for the next few seasons so you would think he would stay inSL if true. All the best mickey without doubt the best forward in SL this year.

Gutted but not surprised. He's been superb, especially this season and will be a big loss. He should certainly get an NRL gig, if that is his preference.
Not used to seeing quite such direct honesty from a player or his representative - kind of refreshing in a way. Hard to argue with what he says.
Just going to make the most of seeing him play the rest of his games for us, he's a fabulous player and it has been great to see him in a Rovers shirt these 2 seasons. A shoo in for our best of the SL era team, alongside Mick Vella at prop.

Funny that, I was at that presentation and saw Hudge and Ben talking and even joking with each other on several occasions? You must be thinking of your own club, who have a 'hate list' as long as the white pages.
Back on topic, good luck to the lad wherever he goes, he's a professional and I hope he gets the best deal for himself and his family wherever he ends up, I'm certain he will still give 100% to Rovers for the remainder of his contract. |
