| We have Hindley this week, free week next week then Latchford - who are rumpured to be having big issues with numbers. This could result in no game for 3 weeks for us which wouldn't be good news at this time of the season.

Anyone know the rules on fulfilling fixtures? Hindley have conceded their last 5, surely they'll get the boot?
Anyway, New Springs conceded to us Friday night. Would have been a tough fixture for us with at least 8 1st teamers out at christenings, weddings, festivals, injuries, etc, and probably just as many 2nd teamers missing. Had plenty of lads put out but would have been a very different line-up.
Bolton at the weekend - always a good tough local derby. Bolton have recruited RU lads since moving to Bolton RU so expecting a few new faces to last season and a hard game.

I don't think the rules are applied as rigorously as the old NWC, certainly not down in div 4. In div 2 St Pats have only played 5 whereas everyone else is on 9 or 10 games so there's obviously some leniency being applied. Every club goes through it's barren patches and Hindley have been around a long time. We're down to play them this week so fingers crossed they can get a side out.
We drew at Bolton early in the season, biggish side, not the biggest of pitches that they played well. Des Drummond was coaching them and they looked to have the makings of a decent side. After match food was great - supplied by Dominos pizza.

| Pats joined the league late after dropping out of division 1. That's why there are so far behind

| New Springs have definetly improved so surprised me to see them concede. We have sorted a game with Burtonwood this week, then hopefully play Latchford then onto Westhoughton. We are starting to get our strongest 17 out regularly now, hoping for a few favours so Wigan, Orrell and Bury slip up!

| My understanding of Hindley is that they run their first and 2nds separately, even training on different nights. The 2nds were awful the only time I saw them play earlier this year.

| Ashton Bears A vs Hindley A off, Hindley conceded game & dropping to entry league 5. Not sure but I'd expect their games & points gained & conceded to be expunged.

I hope our A team don't now get them on that free weekend!

| Bolton Mets 10 - 30 Bury
Not the best performance but a win's a win. We got the better of the opening exchanges but a few bad decisions meant we failed to finish some great opportunities. Bolton made a good game of it but I thought our defence never really looked like cracking, and eventually we got our act together going forward. Always happy to win one of our local derbies, and the dominos pizzas after the game were a bonus!

We had a good result yesterday in a 'friendly' against bridge who are going well near the top end of div 3, and fielding 2 ex BARLA GB Internationals along with ex Warrington half back Nick Owen. They flew 10-0 up, but we managed to steal it with 5 to go after completely dominating the 2nd half. Plenty more to come from us if we can keep this level of commitment going!
