Comedy gold. Their inferiority complex is bordering on funny. Cant blame them though for been jealous of their more ilustrious neighbours, the mighty Fax.

Maybe looking at your squad they think you are doing a Barrow.

I think what annoys people is the perception you have of yourselves as being a 'big club', which in everyone else's eyes other than your own, you are not.



There is no deference towards Halifax from Batley of indeed any other club I can think of. I'm 35 and Halifax have been, other than one fire alarm inspired Grand Final victory, mediocre in my memories.



What I do remember (and these are all factually correct) is you attaining just 3 points in a SL season, a last minute win in a play off against York to avoid further relegation, begging buckets at the Shay and being booted out of the Challenge Cup for fielding an ineligible player.



This season you'll be remembered for not being overly gracious when rejected for SL, and then it coming to light that your helicopter-delivered application was so wide of the mark that it couldn't actually be judged upon by KPMG.



Having looked at Wikipedia for two minutes, your last real success in the 'big league' was a quarter of a century ago, and was followed by non payment of players, transfer embargo's due to financial mismanagement, nearly going into liquidation and the proceeds of selling the Shay (for £1.5 million) being sucked into paying off debt rather than redeveloping a council owned ground.



To put it simply, no one understands why you've got such a massive opinion of yourselves.

Well every single thing you have written is actually known by fax fans so your bleeting is a bit insignificant. The thread on the Batley forum was started and continued by Batley fans who completely misunderstood the thread on our forum. It IS about where we think the final should be held NOT that we should/will win everything and comments are made by fans of other clubs as well.



Anyway why shouldn't our fans be optimistic and confident about the season ahead?

Halifax are a bigger and better club than Batley IMO.

Only cheese rollers would be jealous off, poor crowds, a certain amount of what seems bitter fans( Harold shandy bass ). We get further in most cups, playoffs and leagues, have been to 3 finals in 3 years, poached you coach and players, because they want to be at a bigger better club. Can attract good sponsors and people like noble.



We will ALWAYS be better than Batley, because I am a fax fan first and foremost!.

Exactly!! I don't care about there opinions, I am excited about running away with the league next year and getting the treble, we can then build for SL in the knowledge we have already been told we are in, we can then cherry pick a few of kears signings to a bigger better club. All this whilst Batley and dewsbury chew chunks off each other, they will never notice because they are just a speck of dust in the RL world and we are on par with top NRL teams.
