After a disappointing year and strong rumours of unrest behind the scenes do we think Bluey should be allowed to see out his contract.

Its his only year where he’s ended up empty handed. If anything I feel that this will motivate the players a lot next year and Leeds will do better than expected. He deserves a chance to put this right and I feel that he can with just one year left.



Do it for Bluey lads like you did it for Smithy!

Sacking him would be the easy option.

With us finishing in fourth (third?) position at the end of a very tough campaign , reaching a PO SF ( beating one of the eventual finalists to get there), reaching the CC final at Wembley (having beaten BOTH the PO finalists on the way there), I see no reason why he should go . Most clubs in this league would consider that a very successful season indeed .

I would guess there are at the most only two , possibly three teams that wouldn't want to swap places with us for this seasons results .

The disappointing year was really brought about by injuries although even with a fully fit squad I doubt we'd have won anything. He made a few bad calls this year but runner up twice, fourth and third in the comps aint a bad return.



Cant bin him based on rumours and we shouldnt.

IMO the team seems to have gone backwards under him, whilst we may have done well (at the end of the season) under him. This year has shown that motivation can only go so far, structure & game plans are more important. For me the CC was a good example of this; after 10 or so minutes of 'plan A' producing no return, the team looked lost for what to do, once warrington got on top we had no answer & never looked like coming back into the game.

but my major concern is our defence, especially goal line. 3/4 years ago we'd happily defend set after set, before launching our (usual productive) attack. this year any team that gets into our 10 meters looks likely to score.



as for should he go? i'm happy for him & brian to be given a chance, but if the season kick off the same as this year, then something has to be done.

FWIW I personally will be happy for him to stay i think he's earned that at the very least.

What does concern me is if the rumours of unrest and the players becoming disillusioned under him carry any weight.

Of course it seems par for the course at Leeds if we have a bad run or lose major games that these kind of rumours surface.

If there's some truth in them then it needs stamping out now so we can start fresh in pre-season.

It will also be interesting to see who calls the shots next year re-recruitment/retention especially if it's true that Brian Mc is returning to be no2 for 1 yr only before taking the reigns for 2012.

I think with a good off season of rest and 1 or 2 additions we can bounce back but i think we do need some fresh ideas/structures and no rumours of unrest/divisions within the squad.

No its not. Bluey is one of the two or three most successful Leeds coaches of all time. This year has been disappointing but not bad by any means. Suggesting that we should look to dump him now is a nonsense.



I've been one of the strongest defenders of Tony Smith's reputation on these Boards, and used comparisons made by fans with Bluey to highlight the double-standards being used when comparing the two. I will now hope to just as strongly defend Bluey from the same cr*p.



Rumours of unrest are just that, and if we win things, I couldn't care less if the team despise the coach, as with Smith.

I voted yes, because I don't believe he is the sum of the problem. He's certainly made mistakes, but then again there are posters on here that will for him to make those same decisions.



IMO even if we brought Bellamy over, we would still not challenge for the honours next year, unless we make changes to the playing personnell.



If we make changes then I think Bluey will go fine again.

He wasn't born on the banks of the river Wharfe



He doesn't have a proper Yorkshire name like "Sidebottom"



And worse than that, he is standing in the way of one of our own, who as a player ran his blood to water so as to have only 3 pints of genuine O Positive left circulating within his system.



He's been an expensive luxury....surely an Feckwit can see that?
