Its not Salfords fault your fans only turn up for big games.

That's fairly normal for Saints when the visiting team is anyone other than Wigan, Leeds or Wire. Alas. Hopefully that will change when we get the new stadium, but I'm not holding my breath!

I hope so, with a bit of luck you will fill it regularly and get around 12k in season tickets

I'm hoping for that but more than that I'm hoping that it re-awakens the town's awareness of what is their only enduring success story!



PS: I visited Leigh Sporting Village for the first time to watch the England-France match. What a great stadium you have there. It's such a shame that the council, or whoever, didn't think to link it to a bus service from the more far flung places such as St Helens. It would have been a great place for us to play in next season, bringing some extra revenue in beer sales and TV exposure!

Yep, poor showing from Salford, it's only down the road.

It must be tough being a Salford fan. To see your team win two games on the trot and play some attractive attacking rugby only to then have about five losses on the trot with some attractive attacking rugby but woeful defence, wouldn't inspire me to spend cash travelling 'just down the road', especially when all that is there to greet them is concrete steps, smelly loos and another loss. I don't hold their poor turnout against them.



Wigan, however, have no excuse. Why they don't fill our away end I have no idea.



Mind you, 3,100 from us at the Piedome was poor by our standards, even though we made enough noise for 5,000.

Probably about 30 fans, on there website they were struggling to fill (one) coach a few days ago.

That's garbage on both counts. Well done.

Have you thought for one minute how little enthusiasm you may have if your team were playing somewhere they hadn't won in 31 years? . . and time after time you travel and hand over your hard earned cash only to watch your team get humiliated and thrashed, knowing they were beaten in their own minds before they took to the field? Add to this a run of defeats and the dismal first 15 minutes against Cas at home the week before and it's surprising we had anybody there at all. It's easy to make these cheap shot remarks but imagine how you would think if the ball was on the other foot?



It's much easier following a winning team, I can remember better times at Salford like in the 1970's when we took over 50 coaches to Headingley!



Fortunately quite a few Salford players are out of contract soon and rumour has it the club are going to be increasing their spending in 2011 so hopefully it will make for better results and increased support.
