Just looked for Quins away fixture as promised my daughter i would take her this year after last years called off game and it appears we have to go there on FRIDAY 9th July. Is this just me or is this a crap day for an away day trip to London. Always thought they played on a Saturday at home when not on TV.



Also, we play them at home in March, doesn't appear to be on TV and that is a Friday night. Again dont understand why this isnt a Sunday

Ideal for me, dont work friday nights and my mate can come up from brighton and meet me there.

You would think in their parlous financial state they would go back to Sat or Sun pm's. I did e mail just after the fixture list came out asking the reason behind it, but had no reply, even Peter Hood said he had no idea why either when I asked him.

We havn't missed this fixture for years but we simply can't get there on time to see it. Thats 5 tickets plus all the ale we sup that will be lost to Harleqiuns. I bet there are loads of folk in the same situation as us. The club is just chucking money away.

I'm sure both clubs are aware that a friday night fixture will attract less opposition fans than a saturday or sunday fixture, and I'm sure both teams must have had reasons for having to play on the friday night.

At a rough guess:



Quins RU are playing at home that weekend? EDIT: in JULY? Don't be stupid Adey...





Bulls know Quins bring two men and a dog anyway, so the game will almost certainly run at a loss, and its a quite a bit cheaper to open Odsal on a Friday night compared with a Sunday? EDIT: or more likley the far more sensible suggestion from Highlander below...

I thought this was obvious when you see that Easter is the next weekend. By playing on the Friday you miss out on ?100 away supporters but you allow the squad a full 2 days extra preparation/recuperation time before Leeds on Thursday and the follow up game on Monday

So obvious that I missed it, not thinking when Easter was, but yes that makes even more sense.

But Easter isn't in July
