| Quite simply before going to the press the club should have had a meeting set up with the fans.
The club have a lot of ground to make up to the average fan. There is a huge risk of the previously loyal fans walking away never to return.
Many fans won't know anything about this meeting as they are at work and don't get the MEN.

| So the MEN says it might be on Monday.
Has anyone heard anything concrete on this? I've not had a rep from the email I sent. Not even a recognition of receipt.
Typically if it is on Monday I can't go as I'm working Arghhhhhhhh!

| It may be a good idea if those attending write down their questions to ensure they get asked and the meeting doesn't 'wander off'.
I would prefer it if it wasn't stopped for belly laughs or rounds of applause or hero-worship or devil incarnate
deviations but the meeting ends with me feeling a bit more optimistic.
Lots to cover it would seem - perhaps Forever Reds board members can vet questions going into the meeting to ensure all points are covered and the questions are asked in some kind of order.
May be the only chance we get - make the most of it.

| SCR-SeaDiver - good points
The thing I'd say is that we need to understand just what it is reasonable to know as customers - if Tesco's were in this position, then just because you buy your bread from them doesn't give you the right to know their commercial secrets.
Clearly there's lots of stuff that I'd love to know out of interest:
What is the total debt?
Who is owed money?
Are any of those owed money willing to forgo repayment?
Over what term are the debts due to be repaid?
Now I suspect all those questions would be deemed commercial in confidence so my questions are:
1: If a sizeable portion of our income for the foreseeable future is destined to be servicing debts then how much will be available to improve the team?
2: If the new investment is realised, is it a genuine takeover, i.e. the current owners are out and then are we looking at a complete replacement of the existing board?
3: Is the talk of involvement of a supporters trust realistic, how do the new owners envisage such a thing working?
4: Is there a plan B? What if all this fails, what then?

They're asking for questions to be submitted...
Quote reds.co.uk="reds.co.uk"Salford City Reds will hold an update meeting to discuss the current situation at the Club. All interested parties will have the chance to put their questions to the Chairman and top table. This is now confirmed as taking place on Monday 17 December at 7pm at St Thomas’ Church, Broad Street, Pendleton (which many know as Pendleton Church).
Fans may arrive from 6.30pm. The meeting is open to all, tickets are not required. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission cannot be guaranteed.
The first part of the evening will take the form of answers to pre-submitted questions before the floor will be opened up to further discussion.
Pre-submitting questions will enable us to deal with the most common themes efficiently in advance and should be emailed to questions@reds.co.uk and include your full name. This procedure is not designed to filter the questions in any way, rather to give the evening some structure and prevent the same questions being asked repeatedly and also allows people who cannot attend the meeting to take part.
Once this part of the evening is complete we will move onto an open forum.
Internet coverage will be supplied via Twitter using the hashtag #scrmeet subject to signal conditions within the venue.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Monday evening.

| From the Church website
"The church is blessed with a good organ, a small choir, and a group of bell ringers who ring the church’s 8 bells."
Can't beat a good organ .....

| Quote BartonFlyer="BartonFlyer"Is there a plan B? What if all this fails, what then?'"
If it was Tesco I reckon they would have had a Plan B while waiting for ever and a day for the council to give an answer which could only go one of 2 ways, and prepare for the worst case scenario.
They also seem to care about their workforce with a share scheme [url=http://www.tesco-careers.com/home/you/stores/rewards-and-benefits/teamLink[/url
Still,onwards and upwards from Monday.
Note to self: Open-ended question(s) - and start....
