It's perhaps fitting that we had a thread on here about the 1974 CC final, in which he featured prominently.

Lovely bloke ,seen him a few years back outside a bar in Cardiff at magic weekend he seemed made up to be recognised in his Warrington colours that day . R.I.P Chissy

Chiz most times looked as if he'd just left the pub after a good session and found himself on a rugby pitch but looks can be deceptive. He had great stamina and when those around him built like Adonis were dropping like flies in the last 15 minutes Chiz would just going keep on and on. A big rival of his was brother Eric both on and off the pitch...They were having one of their usual battles at home one day and Eric was chasing Dave all all round the house...Eric fell over the furniture and broke his arm leaving him out of the Saints team for some weeks...He was a great character. RIP

RIP Big Fella Loved watching him at Wilderspool...

sad loss...any one remember the try he scored (think it was bradford at home ) when he sold about 3 dummies to score at the railway end..r.i.p big fellow

Very sad indeed. That's another of the great 1974 side gone.

I remember him chipping over at Wigan in the cup I think. It hit the woodwork and bounced back into his hands for him to charge over.

1975 Challenge Cup quarter final



I was going to post about that one earlier, I was at Central Park with a girlfriend from Ince as a neutral but supporting the Wire, Dave was a top player, collected the ball about 15 yards out, with tge pies expecting a straight charge for the line, instead he chipped over and caught the rebound ,he was quick as over a short dustance



He played many great games at Leigh, RIP big lad
