Fantastic signing for you. What are Hull playing at though? That fee is a joke for a player of Lineham's potential who had two full years left on his current contract. Warrington have thoroughly had them on this one.

Looks like Joel Monaghan is off to Catalan Dragons. So we should get some of the money back from that sale.

He wants to leave, so not a lot we can do, except take the large transfer fee, look to replace him and wish him luck.



He is a good (Not fantastic) winger, really good in the air, great finisher and quick when he gets going, downside he is injury prone, very prone to defensive lapses and is not the type of winger to score a try out of nothing.



I suppose he is a bit like Joel M.

Assuming he can stay clear from injury he fits that '20 try a season bracket' which we need, whether he is there to replace Monas or not.

Where is the large transfer fee though? £125k? Micky Higham, with three months on this contract was worth £50k. Lineham with 10 years ahead of him and 2 years left on his contract should be worth more than £125k. Obviously there is a ceiling, but Hull should have been starting at £300k and asking for players if they want to reduce the outlay. If Warrington then pulled out fine, Salford would have paid it.

Not really comparible. Highams fee was so high as we were being compensated for his immdeiate departure and the disruption that would have on our season. In Linehams case the compensation is just for the remaining years of his contract. It seems a fair price to me?



We paid £175k for Clark I think, so £125k for Lineham seems in the ball park for a young & promising, but established SL player. Hull paid £100k for Sneyd who probably was't quite as established, but as he was a half and Hull were a bit desperate, probably got a bit of a premium.
