I have been told today that Lee Doran , currently has a list of Lancs based players Haven are interested in signing for next season , a couple of them from our squad last season , along with a friend of mine

,they would train in Lancs and travel to Haven once a week , i feel we must try to get our squad sorted as soon as possible .

If they don`t want to play for the Leythers then thanks for the effort and goodbye, the club is bigger than any individual.

Spot on. Not sure how the Cumbrian players (and even the Cumbrian fans?!) would feel about training sessions being shifted to another county - don't think this was the case even when Steve Mac was there with a shedload of Lancs players.

Apparently Lee has given this task , and job to attract better players , hes been offered a coaching post at Haven , i dont think the Haven fans would care if they had 17 Eskimos playing for them , as long as they are winning and are successful, as for the players some want to get their future sorted as soon as poss , i know for a fact Ste Tyrer was interested in signing for us , before our problems came to light , but then went to Fax .

Fax will p*ss the championship next season, stocking up on the (better) players so no one else can have them. They only have two years to tick a box so looks like next season is their S or B season.

I'm afraid we are in dream land if we take the comment of all 16 current squad players want to stay with us as anything other than a pinch of salt.

Depends on what the alternative option is - the one benefit of being in the Yorkshire League is that, Swinton apart, any competition for signatures will mean travelling 200 miles a week just to go to training.

Good point Matt , but the word Swinton will be crucial in the above statement over the next few months.



Would not surprise one bit to see 50% of those 16 playing for the lions next year wait for at Leigh sports village!!

If that`s the case I`ll still be supporting the lads who turn out for the Leythers...couldn`t care a damn if any sign for the Lions.

All conjecture with no evidence, lets wait and see.
