| I don't generally give much weight to the missed tackle stats. Some missed tackles aren't really that bad. Ipape will have dropped off some tackles when going for the big hit, but he will have also knocked people to the ground with his initial contact but had it count as a missed tackle because he didn't keep hold of the player.
Gaz had something like 18 missed tackles in the round 1 game. The vast majority of these will have been when he got himself in front of Junior Nsemba, got knocked onto his backside, but Hanley and O'Neill would then complete the tackle. He was effectively acting as a speed bump, and while the stats would go against him, he did his job.
That said, the defence does need to tighten up. There have also been some bad missed tackles in the last three games, leading directly to tries, but also lack of players taking responsibility as well.
