i doubt it, always amazes me how we can get 1500 to a friendly, albeit one at our traditional rivals, but yet we very rarely take half half that number to games which mean something.

Jeez its 1500 not 15000,it's not all that- our away crowds have been growing. First fix of the season - where were the other 5000+ !

jools, what i meant was out of that 1500 who were at fax, to get their rugby fix, how many will be at wigan in 2 weeks for a game that matters? the usual 2/300 of us that go to every game?

it's all very well going to a local friendly to get their fix, but when the games come along that matter they suddenly lose their interest.

wouldn't it be great if even half that number travelled away regularly?

but looking at the fixtures, we have only got 3 scheduled sunday afternoon away games, not including magic weekend, so i can't see our away numbers picking up much this year.

they will be watching it on sky (if its on!), in their arm chairs with a pipe and slippers, too cold for them to travel that far too

No brearley- there's more to it than that. I'm lucky enough to not currently work Fridays - lots do. The last wigan game (thurs) I set off from oldham at 5.30 and missed kick off. The time before I set of on Friday at 5.00 and only just made it on time. - both times there were plenty of giants there- would probably have been many more if it was Sunday. Saints game - missed kick off..... See the pattern-

i seemed to get there on time from hudds, friday eves are busy on the m62 but to wigan its 50mins, so 1hr 30 mins travelling time surely enough. if there has been a crash then its different obv.
