| I've read a bit recently about the cost of walk up prices on one of threads and also with regards to the club being able to entice new fans (back!). Couple with that the fact that one or two people on hear are not able to attend and giving their tickets to others to use. Albeit Ivor beat me too it slightly today, l've been thinking about an idea all this week.
What if we could organise something whereby those with season tickets but not able to attend a game could donate the ticket to a scheme which then gave the ticket to someone else, in exchange for donating £10 to say the squadbuilder or something? All it would need would be a trusted middle man. £10 is a more than fair price to pay for a game and a ticket that could potentially go un used.
I'm expecting my first child at the end of June and I will be unable to attend at least 1 if not 2 home games as a result, so I'll throw them into the pot straight away. I think its a small way to help solve a couple of problems.
What do people think?

| Good idea, i like it - or donate it to a chosen charity/HGSA - will give people who cant afford a chance to get to a couple more games, the club benefits again even though the ticket is already paid for and it adds numbers to the crowd if they tickets weren't used.....can't see anything negative about that !!

| Don't wanna put a downer on it but how could you guarantee it goes to someone not going to the game already thus making money and not taking it away from the club?
Already been loads on here me included that get annoyed at all the reduced price offers for non ticket holders this could potentially be another?
Like the idea if policed correctly and gets NEW fans thru the turnstiles and I would be another happy to donate my tickets when I am on holiday or working and unable to attend.
Could go towards HGSA, Squad Builder or the new side by side charity.

| Sounds a brilliant idea in theory. If run properly it could make a few quid for the chosen donatee and put bums on seats. I'll throw my spare tickets in there when we are on hols.

| I believe Barcelona FC have a similar initiative.
If you are a season ticket holder, but can't get to the game, then you can advise the club and they sell the ticket on your behalf.
Obviously demand for FCB tickets is higher than the Giants ever will be, but this system ensures that there are always tickets available if you want them (except for the Real game)

| The walk up price this year of 24 pounds is way too expensive in my opinion that's why the crowds have been lower than the club would like. People haven't been able to afford season ticket prices therefore attendances have been poor. The ticket exchange scheme is a good one and I like the one offered by Bradford City FC (but I am biased). They have season tickets available and also a 'Flexi Card' scheme. Basically if you can't stretch to a season ticket for whatever reason you can buy a flexi card which is 50 pounds and then you pay 10 pounds for each game you attend rather than the walk up price of 20 pounds. I think this scheme would bring in more money for the Giants and its far easier to administer. Essentially you would pay the 50 pounds and then say 12 pounds for each game attended through out the season. Obviously depending on the number of games you intend to attend will determine what works out most cost effective.

I can't guarantee it would go to someone who was going to the game already. This was not the reason for it, it was that I have a ticket going and the club could profit from this. My ticket is already paid for and I would rather the club got a little more from this than it went to waste.
The only issue I have to start it now is a middle man. Could the HGSA act as this? Or the club?
Anyone any suggestions?

Not heard of the Bradford scheme but they seem to consistently break the 10,000 barrier and the impact on the pitch has not been too bad either, sounds like it could be worth the club looking into to see if it could work for us.

| Yes 10,000 (ish) regularly attend league games. Its a great scheme and one which the Giants could benefit from I'm sure albeit with their own pricing structure. City are offering them again next season. The thing is what I have found this year with the football the more games you attend (if the team are doing well on the pitch) you want to keep attending its a snowball effect. You'll find that some flexi card fans will upgrade to a season ticket for next season......(the Wembley Cup Final has helped also)

I like the idea.
They'd have to make the maths viable - with only 13 homes a season the cost per game would need to be higher.
Season Ticket: £200
Flexicard:
£50 + 13x£10 = £180
£50 + 13x£12 = £206
£50 + 13x£14 = £232 (also is £10 per saving per game).
At £14, the flexicard entrance fee could then be reduced to a tenner for the poorer attended fixtures or ones where the club want a bigger following. ie 3 games in a season which would net an additional £20 from people who buy a flexicard and then attend each game.
That said, I'd probably opt for a Fleixcard knowing I am going to miss at least couple of games a season (summer holidays, diary conflict with work).
