Just on my way to London on the train and there is a notice up on Wigan North Western station NO trains from Wigan on 27th & 28th August as the west coast mainline is closed between Crewe and Preston. If you are planning to go down Saturday come back Sunday you need to check with Virgin as it looks like it's bus to/ from Crewe.... Lovely They couldn't have picked a worse weekend.
Hopefully there will be 30000 Wiganers very annoyed about this come Saturday about 6pm. I was going to post this on the Wire board, the I thought...... why?

the tubes will be chuffed up that day too. But hey ho, if we are travelling and putting up with the e then Wigan will be playing at Wembley so who gives a chuff  |

Clueless decision, regardless of who wins on Saturday. I've done the train twice on cup final weekends and they were overflowing both times.
You can get trains via Manchester Piccadilly though.

| One of the fortunate things about being the wrong side of the Pennines is a lovely quick train from Chesterfield to St. Pancras.

i noticed there dont seem to be any trains running to Wembley stadium, closest is Wembley north.
unless someone can tell me different?

perhaps they should again?? our last final was on black saturday when we lost to saints in cardiff and they put them on then??? it's either that or 2 seats on a coach full off p#ssed kids?? |

trains are running to Wembley central from euston which is then not far to walk to the stadium |
