I agree with The Avenger's summary; and if MC's interest in making the club successful and sustainable is driven by a motivation to recoup his investment, then good - that's a much healthier motivation than that of say, a fan, who'll do anything for instant success.



This whole thing sounds like a power struggle that's gone sour; and now BS has thrown his teddy out and resorted to sordid internet trolling techniques to put pressure on MC - not at all the strategy one would expect from a serious operator with a reputation to consider, and serious intentions to take over a club that he suddenly appears to care deeply about, despite upping sticks and leaving it in the mire.

Did hear Smith attempted the same thing with Hull and Bulls funny how he left them with half a job done ?

They seemed to do ok after he left though so I'm not sure you can say they were bad days for him.

I have to say I'm getting a bit bored with this now though.



I liked Smith but he's gone now.

He needs to get off facebook and carry on with his life.



MC needs to concentrate on running the club and learning from this. Doesn't need to counter any stories, just set about getting acoach that will suit us.

If and its a big if there seems to be genuine progress re. Purchase of ground and possibilities of development I can fully understand why MC would want to stay at the helm and oversee it all.

Exactly - if only because if the ground refurbishment comes off, then the value of the club will be at least £2. Instant 100% profit!

errr... because MC has put a lot of his own money in to the club!

I think it only reasonable to ask any prospective owner what he intends to do with it!

IF he was selling the whole shooting match, surely he would want to clear his cost's / debt and wouldn't be overly concerned as to the new owners next move.



If we are talking investment and taking on a shareholder, then, of course, that would be different.

Yes he has put is own money into the club, how much no one knows, how much has he taken back so far if any, no one knows.



He needs to Stop saying he will sell for a pound every time he is given grieve when he clearly will not. Only he knows what price he will really take to walk away and on what terms, he is the biggest shareholder with CB the second biggest on the last lot of figures on company's house.



His club, his choice, but stop telling fans no one is interested when at least one person was.

Could it be that it was easier to look after his cash 'investment' from within than from without ?

Or could it be that the person who was suggesting he would like to buy it was a little delusional (some may say crazy) and on further inspection, didn't have the finances in place to back up what he was suggesting??



Rather than spending his time coming up with crackpot ways of buying the club, id have preferred him to look at ways for us to win games of rugby. 2 from 14 against Super League opposition (i would imagine the for/against doesnt make for good reading!) doesn't lie and is suddenly getting forgotten due to the garbage that he is spouting on social media. Have we really improved any during his time? There were brief glimpses, but defensively we are still appalling.



My take on it all is that BS assembled the current squad and has now realised it simply wasn't good enough and has got out before damaging his reputation further.

He can carry on blaming whoever he wants, but he knew the budgets and chose how to spend what he had. Something in my opinion he did badly!
