Good news and will support him as any other but fail to see where he would fit in after last weeks performance. Good to have another option though and I would think he would get a shot like anybody else.

I think the key is that he's a man. Playing a team of youngsters is great but it's a physical game and there is no substitute for a bit of mature muscle and hopefully brain.



Not saying we need him straight away but we will need him at some point.

Smith at 7, T Lee/Jules at 9, Davey to miss out.

I prefer Davey to Lee, but it's a shame for either TBH.

Its a really tough call tbh, because Hyde, Lee, Rinaldi and Davey will all feel that they deserve a shirt, however, Smith has been training with us for a couple of months now and still hasnt had an opportunity to play. Maybe it would be safer to give him a game in the reserves this weekend, then pick him in the first team next weekend. He could be a key player for us, but with Hyde, Rinaldi and Lee playing exceptionally well, and with Davey playing well V Catalans, it may not be fair to stick him straight in.

Kear said that Hyde picked up a slight hamstring issue from the Catalan game, so depending on how he's training this week Smith may come in for Hyde.



Saying that, if Hyde is fit that i don't think any of 4 half / hookers should be dropped.

Id say Smith will start on the bench - hyde and lee 6 n 7 (however im hoping BJ will come back a committed Wakefield player and not throw the teddy bear out !!) ... I would also like to see Davey involved rotating the hooking role - is time for this kid to be given a chance now !!!

I think its just great that we can have this conversation, given as last week JK was struggling to even get a team together.

What condition is the pitch in? Some Salford fans seem to suggest it's going to be a game played in the forwards dependant upon a good kicking game. If so, that may well influence Kear's decision

Wouldn't be too upset to see smith in there this week, might just have a point to prove against his old team.
