Ellis certainly needs to lose some weight but this needs to be a fine balance of playing size and fitness. He takes on the line to good effect and scores regular on the back of this. I'd be concerned that too much weight loss would lead to confidence issues taking on the line and result in his natural game been affected.

He's a big lad but doesn't need a spare tyre to take the line on. A stone pre season will do nicely.

What I like is he seems like a real hard grafter, he's not hunting for personal glory but has real desire to get the whole team going, how many try assists does he have anyone?

A good pre-season and he should lose the spare tyre without having to try. That will still leave him with plenty of size to work with.

Ok I have seen this kid play a couple of times , well here is one for you all .He is good very good BUT lets see how good he is when we have played him at hooker , fullback , centre , maybe even the wing any where but scrum half because that is what will happen with the coaching set up we have

Every time I've seen him play he has impressed me. Easy to see his is a class above in that league, hopefully he can transfer it over to SL. His weight isn't too much of a problem, he can loose that with no trouble, ask Sam after last off season.

talk about him shedding weight is off the mark, dropping bodyfat % sure, however doing a full pre-season will see him gain muscle mass as he trains harder (I'm not talking about hitting the weights either) Thus given muscle is around 30% denser than fat his weight may well increase slightly if he drops some of the fat..

Cause half backs are known for their defence.
