Did they just say he was the country's top try-scorer with 34 this season? I do like the look of him. Obviously the SL pre season will be hard yards for him, but long kicking game looks very handy, he puts in plenty of effort. I also think it won't have done him any harm to have had to "boss" a team - remember O'Meley saying on his arrival that FC's upcoming halves were a bit intimidated and wouldn't give the orders out - looking at Ellis I don't think he'll have that problem. Reminds me of Cooke in style. Looking forward to seeing how he measures up next season.

Looks a good young talent but looks like he could do to lay off the pies a little.

TBF most of the Leigh squad are carrying a bit of timber. Give him 2 weeks off and get him in pre season early.

If the extra kilos he is carrying makes him more confident to play at the line without fear of getting knocked about who cares and its not as if you see him stood gassed with his hands on his knees.

Gary Pearce did ok, although the game is much, much quicker nowadays.

Agreed. Cooke was always a similar shape and didn't stop him taking games by the scruff of the neck. As said, Leigh players all look similar and you can't expect fitness levels to be as high as SL. Give him a full pre season and I'd hope he can step up reasonably quickly. Looking forward to it.

quality young kid, a very natural orginising half with a short and long kicking game but what impresses me is his ability to be at first reciever alot of the time with good structure around him and takes the ball right to the line and his a huge threat look at the amount and the tries hes scored, hopefully our starting 7 for next year under our new coach

Ellis has always had a chunky build, won't effect his fitness or any pace he may have.

for me makes him a better player been bigger hes a huge threat at the line and attracts defenders
