Does anybody think Longy & Sir Fitz are worth another years deal?.



Longy could well be more productive now Gleeson is on board.

Sir Fitz will be very hard to replace, both on & off the field.



Balanced against that is the age of the players & large salaries.



Is one more year just too much for them?.



Any thoughts?

Sir Fitz definately(if he wants to stay). I`m not that fussed if Long doesn`t TBH. Longy hasn`t produced the goods consistently enough.Have we got another scrum half lined up for next year? If not, maybe Long will stay another year especially now that Gleeson is here.

i certainly think we could see more from long with gleeson on board hopefully anyway as for another contract no old aand injury prone and we need to look elsewhere. fitz well again i have to questions that he would be able to go again for another couple of years but i would like us to look for a younger prop and allow westy,turner and whiting have the 13 shirt. but there no doubt both players have brought some much need experience.

Both play like they are 18 again, definately one more year with no worries at all

certainly cracking performances from both today but looking long term the injury problems that long has had for me means we have to be looking for another halfback, as for fitzy well hes a workhorse and can see him playing for another year

If Longs only going to turn up for the odd Derby match and the Saints games then no.

Fitz...only if he was played as prop, the 13 shirt is Westermans for me.

I say thanks to Fitz and goodbye. I think the salary he undoubtedly commands could be spent with greater effect on a younger marquee signing. That's not to belittle his contributions but he is slowing though still buts in a great shift.



As for Long I say goodbye and good riddance, has never justified the outlay we have made on him and again the money could be better spent elsewhere. Can't believe we'd offer him a deal.

I would say it would depend what salary we could get them both for.



However I still feel a new (younger) no7 is the clubs top priority. We need to sign someone who we can build the team around for future years.

Long played very well today but it was the exception rather than the rule and he'll be injured again before long.



As for Fitz I'd give him another year if he wanted it. Menzies is still delivering the goods and he's 37 now.

I would say thank you for the service to the game Fitz, but no extension. too many times today once the ball got to fitz in Rovers 20 everything seemed to go into slow mo. Fitz doesn't have the skills of someone like Westerman who should be in the receiving positions that Fitz was in today

As soon as Gleeson signed for 18 months that signalled to me that Long would be getting another year.
