You Have to wonder just before a Derby and two weeks away from Wembley, who would give the Newspapers a story like that don't you?

Especially since we could possibly still do the double.

He'd have problems sacking him then.



Having said that, I was led to believe someones P45 was almost certainly in the post had we lost the semi.

Surely the only way this would be true is if AP had expected to lose the semi and lined up a top line replacement.

Will not at all be surprised if AP makes a statement rubbishing this article later today.

The Daily Star should stick to Big Brother and tits.

I'm sure it's a big coincidence, like the reference to Rovers in the article.

I'm sure there's still a possibility of Gentle paying the price for a poor league campaign, but I'd be amazed if anything's been decided already.

So would I. not saying that AP wouldn't sack him (and I believe he has form in that area) but this looks like mischief making to me.

A large pinch of salt being taken here. What if PG becomes the first Hull coach to win at Wembley? Would be very difficult and the prize money would end up paying him off, so forget team strengthening.

If we lose the cup final and fail to make any impact in the play-offs I think its entirely possible Pearson could decide its time for a change.



However I hope he would leave it until the close season and hope he would have a replacement lined up first.



IMO it would be harsh on Gentle to sack him before the end of his initial 3 year contract because there was a lot wrong with the club when he took over and it takes time to build things. Equally, it may have been a (costly) mistake by Pearson to extend his contract before the first year was up.
