| Quote General Zod.="General Zod."I know that the false rumours have definitely been peddled by Rovers players and probably a few FC players as well.
No doubt a few months will pass by and they'll get started up again and the same gullible folk who took the bait before will do so again because some fans can't seem to comprehend that players are just like everyone else in that they like to have a bit of a laugh.
I really wish Dobbo all the best at Newcastle but I doubt he'll succeed because his defence isn't great and I just don't think he's very clinical with the ball in hand and a lot of his errors which are forgotten about quickly over here (because of who he is) won't be over there and he'll have a lot fewer opportunities to make his mark in games and I fear this may be the undoing of him.
Of course I hope I'm wrong and he makes a go of it and spends the rest of his career over there but I suspect we'll see him back in SL at some point.'"
I'd like to see him do well in the nrl but not sure he is good enough for that level. I think we may well see him back over here but where, I don't know

| Quote easthull4="easthull4"Forget him he is gone if he comes back ok that's life. lets give this young kid Keating a go that is taking his shirt, he might not be as good as Dobbo, who knows the proof is in the pudding. he played in a grand Final more than Dobbo ever did. From what I know this kid is pretty good not same style play maker, he is more of a runner and if he backs up the pack Rovers look like fielding along with Travis Burns I am really looking forward to next season we have bought well as long as we can keep them fit and well we will do alright Dobson is gone finished forget him its a job to them he is a mercenary he will go where ever the shilling takes him. it is rover now not the past that you should be thinking about'"
Who wouldn`t? its a short career. If someone offered you the extra shilling would you change jobs? I can`t understand you slagging a good servant to your club off either.

| Absolutely, I doubt it's actually all about the money with Dobson. He's an ambitious player who wants to test his talent at the very highest level.
We at Rovers were very lucky to have the pleasure of watching him for so long, can't wish the lad anything but success.

| I was chatting to Kris Keating on Toll Gavel the other day and he was of the opinion Dobbo will go really well at the Knights.
He also said it was his first week of pre-season and tough going. I asked him the inevitable question and he said he wasn't here to fill Dobbo's boots and he hopes the fans like his style of play.

| With Jarod Mullen out for up to four months with hamstring tear it looks like Dobson gets his chance from round one.
He went pretty well in the first trial game against an Aboriginal selection of non NRL players, but in the 9s he was dropped after we lost the first game.
He plays tomorrow against the Raiders at Tamworth in what should be our round one side, plus or minus Kurt Gidley at hooker.

| In a season or 2 he will be 30 and in the twilight of his career. No matter where he ends up, it's fair to say we have had his best years.

I think he was consistently good for yourselves, Catalans and Wigan. I don't think he'll ever control an NRL game like he did over here, not because he's a bad player - just because he's more suited to the UK game.
